After His 6 Daughters Put Him In Check, Quincy Publicly Apologizes For Telling Folks’ Business

Posted On : February 22, 2018

As we all have seen over the past couple weeks, the iconic Quincy Jones set the internet on FIRE…nah, bump that, he set off an atomic bomb across the ‘net with his many revelations. After he told everybody’s business- from Richard Pryor’s and Marvin Gaye’s reported sexcapades with actor, Marlon Brando; to Michael Jackson stealing songs from Donna Summer and others; to Quincy, himself, dating Ivanka Trump (Donald’s daughter), to say the internet was lit, is an understatement.

Put In Check!

Now though, Q is speaking out or the first time since his epic Vulture interview and has decided to issue an apology. He says that his daughters had to straight up check him over all of the beans he spilled.

Although several of his interview revelations were confirmed to be true, in a lengthy online apology Jones still wanted to smooth things over. He started off by admitting “I HAVE LEARNED MY LESSON!” He then went on to explain that his six daughters called a “family intervention” to teach him how to maneuver with his words in these social media streets:

“Let me tell you, I am so grateful for my daughters because they are not afraid to stand up to their daddy. I am an imperfect human & I’m not afraid to say it. I’m sorry & I’m not afraid to say it.”

He the went on to blame his age and his high ability to “wordvomit” at will:

“But when you live a public life you have a responsibility to be an example & since I do live a public life I wanted to make a public apology,” Q wrote.

And although he says he’s since apologized to his celeb friends in private, he wanted to also man up and apologize publicly, here’s why:

“…when you live a public life you have a responsibility to be an example & since I do live a public life I wanted to make a public apology,” he wrote.

Should He Apologize For Being Him?

Listen, I get that Quincy Jones pissed off a whole lotta folks with his revelations in his Vulture interview and understandably so. BUT although some may disagree with me on this, the thing that makes him unique and equally intriguing (aside from his musical talents) is his uncensored, transparent personality. In today’s age of highly sensitive political correctness, there’s no denying that it’s refreshing to see a celebrity who does not play it safe, but rather keeps it real no matter the setting. Q is definitely one of those people, whether we like it or not. However, after reading Q’s apology, it seems he’s about to join the censored bandwagon with the rest of the play-it-safe celebs. Soooo ILOSM fam,’ no more interesting interviews from Jones, it seems.

About I Love Old School Music

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
