That’s right! Her uncle is Donnie Simpson a.k.a. the former host of BET and a radio personality! Her name is Cynne Simpson and she’s close to her ‘Uncle Donnie,’ in fact she somewhat followed in his footsteps and made a great career for herself in front of the camera interviewing others. She’s a news anchor in Atlanta on Fox5.

Speaking of Donnie Simpson, don’t you miss Video Soul? We’ll forever be grateful to Donnie and the rest of the hosts and BET execs for giving urban music such a big platform like that back in the day, but I digress.

Update 10/15/2015: Word on the old school curb is that Chris Tucker and his longtime girlfriend, Cynne Simpson, are no longer engaged. The couple made their first debut as a “couple” in December 2014, during Mayor Kasim Reed’s annual charity ball at the Marriott Marquis in Atlanta.

Chris Tucker! [*In Chris’ voice*] “What’s happenin’ man?” LOL.

Chris popped the big question to Cynne at the end of last year and she said “yes.” Check out Cynne and Chris Tucker proudly grinning from ear to ear.

They look really happy together and I hope their marriage lasts forever, just like Cynne’s “Uncle Donnie’s” has lasted. Donnie Simpson’s been married to his wife since 1973 and they’re still going strong.

By the way, Cynne actually interviewed Chris Tucker in 2013 and they were either acting like they didn’t know each other, or they really didn’t know each other…yet. Anyways, check out the interview of these two lovebirds below…
