After the late Bobbi Kristina’s boyfriend, Nick Gordon, was found legally responsible for her death on Friday (8-16-16), Bobby Brown immediately rejoiced and paid homage to his daughter’s life and legacy and he also released a public statement regarding the verdict against Nick.

Bobby B. posted an emotional tribute of a painting that featured himself and Bobbi Kristina together at various stages in her life- from a toddler, into womanhood- on his Instagram page. The caption read:

Bobby also released a statement to US Weekly about Nick Gordon’s court verdict:

Via US Weekly: [Bobby Brown] told Us Weekly in a statement on Friday that he is “pleased with the outcome of today’s court proceedings.”

“All I ever wanted was answers relating to who and what caused my daughter’s death,” he said in the statement. “Today’s judgment tell me it was Nick Gordon. Now I need to process all the emotions I have and lean on God to get me and my family through this.”

As we previously reported, a Georgia judge presiding over the $50 million wrongful death lawsuit case that Bobbi Kristina’s estate filed against Nick, ruled that Nick is legally responsible in what is referred to as ‘admission by omission’:

Via 11 Alive News: ‘Fulton County Superior Court judge T. Jackson Bedford said because Gordon has failed to appear twice, anything alleged by the plaintiff is admitted through omission.’

So now Nick is in contempt of court and will have to pay up.

When Bobbi Kristina’s estate first filed their wrongful death lawsuit last year (2015) following Bobbi Kris’ death on July 26, 2015, the estate’s attorney, Bedelia Hargrove released this statement:

“This lawsuit represents our collective efforts to get justice for Bobbi Kristina,” she added. “We pray that justice will be done for her and that it will be swift.”

After Friday’s verdict, Hargrove’s attorney David Ware, released this victorious statement as well:

“In court today, we finally finished a long journey for justice for Bobbi Kristina Brown. The court agrees with us, by striking Mr. Gordon’s answer that he is legally responsible for her death. The only thing left to prove is the value of her life. We intend to do that . . . Mr. Gordon will not put on any evidence in contradiction of that.”

The criminal investigation, in which Nick was previously listed as a ‘person of interest’ is still pending and Nick has not been criminally charged for anything regarding Bobbi Kristina’s death.

As for Bobby Brown and the rest of the Houston and Brown families, we hope they will eventually be able to get some closure for losing their Bobbi Kris’ and their Whitney…no matter how that closure may come. Everyone handles their grief differently and at this point we’re hoping that Bobby Brown is continuing to also remain strong and handle his extreme grief in the best way he possibly can.
