Damn! “Lean On Me” Actor Just Got Busted By Cops For 2nd Felony Crime In Recent Years

Posted On : October 17, 2017

Jermaine Hopkins isn’t having much luck skating past the law these days. According to TMZ, the Lean On Me star is in hot water after yet another run-in with police. It has been reported that Hopkins was caught with drugs after he attempted to speed past a patrol car.

70 In A 55:

Last week, Hopkins was pulled over in Apex, North Carolina after he was clocked going 70MPH in a 55MPH zone. The situation would have probably resulted in nothing more than a speeding ticket, but once Hopkins was stopped, police discovered he had a few items in the car. The former actor had approximately 5.7 lbs. of weed in the trunk of his car. Due to the amount of weed he had in his possession, he was arrested and charged with felony drug possession with intent to sell. Hopkins was arrested and also given a speeding ticket but he was later released on a $3,000 bond. Although it’s still unclear whether or not Hopkins planned to sell the drugs he had in his trunk, his previous drug charges led police to believe he had big plans for the marijuana.

Past Issues:

Hopkins’ latest arrest follows a massive drug bust where officers found with a massive amount of marijuana that definitely proved he intended to sell. For those who missed that, Hopkins was again pulled over by police back in 2011 with more than 200 pounds of marijuana and over $100k in his car. He was driving from North Carolina to Arizona, but his trip was cut short once he was pulled over. Then to make matters worse, police also searched his home and found another 100 pounds of marijuana. During a previous interview, Hopkins admitted that he knew one day he’d get caught.

“I always mentally prepared myself for being caught…nothing last forever.” His additional advice for young folks – “be prepared for the outcome”. [When those police lights came on], “I knew oh this is the day.”

He previously received three years of probation at the time but it looks like he’ll be dealing with the law a little longer now.
