Director, John Singleton, Steps Up To Defend R. Kelly Against ‘Sex Slave’ Claims

Posted On : July 24, 2017

Over the past few weeks, it seems like the music legends, who were all label-mates on Jive Records at some point, have a cursed cloud over their heads. Recently the legendary rapper, Mystikal, found himself in tax trouble once again, after having previously served time for the same crime. Usher has unfortunately been exposed for allegedly infecting a woman with herpes and paying her $1.1 mill’ for her troubles. Then there is R. Kelly, who’s been getting blasted by the parents of a 21 year old woman and others over allegations that he’s running a ‘sex cult’ outta his Atlanta and Chicago homes.

Surprisingly, the one who appears to be innocent of most of the current allegations against him is R. Kelly- the one many would least expect, based on his past troubles. He’s reportedly housing several women who refer to him as their ‘man,’ according to reports.

What Singleton Thinks About R.Kelly’s Current Situation

Now, legendary director, John Singleton, is stepping up in Kellz’s defense. The Boyz N’ The Hood creator was stopped by paparazzi the other day and asked if the sex slave allegations against R.Kelly should be compared to the sexual assault/rape claims against Bill Cosby. Singleton basically gave a ‘Hell naw’ for his answer and then further explained why. He stated that the women in R. Kelly’s case are grown adult women who are choosing to stay there as his ‘girlfriends,’ so he doesn’t see what all the fuss is about. See what else he said in the clip below…

Quite frankly, as more details continue to emerge about Kelly’s stash of women, I think John Singleton has a point. Although R. Kelly’s past may have seemed really suspect, nowadays it just sounds like Kellz is living his life like the ‘Jerome-y-Rome’ character on Martin– he’s a “playa from the Himalayas.”

The women living in his homes apparently all want to be there with their ‘man.’ It may be an odd arrangement and the ladies may even be a bit naive, or money hungry, or maybe both- but it’s still legal. Now, if anything illegal does surface about Kellz’s situation, we’ll let you all know. In the meantime, R. Kelly will probably be getting his ‘sugar daddy’ on with his young lady friends.

About I Love Old School Music

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
