Steve Harvey and D.L. Hughley go WAY back, they have nothing but love for each other and their bond as friends is strong. But just like any friendship, sometimes there may be a disagreement on some things. For Harvey and Hughley, that thing is definitely Donald Trump.

If you didn’t catch wind of Steve’s plea for respect for Donald Trump on his radio show Friday (3-17-17), here’s what went down. Steve was addressing Snoop Dogg, Bow Wow, and T.I.’s recent expressions of dislike for Trump. Snoop held up a toy gun to a man with an orange painted face, blonde hair, suit and tie in a new music video. T.I. and Bow Wow then came to Snoop’s defense on social media, with Bow Wow also taking a jab at Trump’s wife, Melania.

They received support and backlash from folks, depending on which side was doing the talking.

Steve Harvey then discussed the situation on his show:

“I’m certain that Snoop doesn’t pose a real threat at all,” Steve expressed. “The problem with all this is that there is an office in this country called the ‘president,’ and you have to respect the office. You really do. Whether you want to or not. You have to respect the office. They got laws. Be smart with what you say. Y’all got to be smart now.”

Steve continued…

“I love Snoop. Bow Wow, always respectful and cordial with one another, me and T.I. I don’t have no problem with T.I. I love the dude. I’m just saying brothers be smart. You gotta be smart man. All y’all talking got money. You got money, man. You got money and they know how to go after that money. Just be smart, handle your business. Let me tell ya man, leave the first lady out of this. Y’all going down another path with these cats now. You start messing with they wives…I’ll tell y’all you going down another path.”

Now, during Steve’s ‘pre-Trump meeting’ era, some folks probably would have heard him out on this. But today, in his ‘post-Trump meeting’ era, he probably isn’t the best celebrity to cool down political/racial/cultural tensions in regards to the Prez.’

Needless to say, Harvey caught a lot of flack from people who felt he had some nerve asking for respect for a president who blatantly doesn’t give respect to so many. Then D.L. weighed in…

D.L.Hughley Responds To Steve Harvey’s ‘Respect Trump’ Request: ‘F— That!’

On Monday afternoon (3-20-17) Steve’s ever-so-outspoken friend, D.L. Hughley, did what he does best when stopped by TMZ at LAX airport- he spoke his mind, straight up. D.L. pointed out that he “loves Steve,” but he basically had no choice but to send his friend this message in so many words, ‘with all due respect, F— your respect.’ D.L. feels that until Trump shows that he respects all people, he does not deserve respect from all people. Check out what else D.L. Hughley said about this below *contains graphic language*…

About I Love Old School Music

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
