Eddie Murphy & Jimmy Kimmel Reveal Their Favorite “Good Times” Episodes

Posted On : September 14, 2016

Eddie Murphy was on the “Jimmy Kimmel Show” recently and he and Jimmy learned that they had one thing in common- their love for “Good Times.” Both of them revealed that was their favorite show back in the day and Jimmy said that he’d found out a while back that Eddie owned the original “Sugar Shack” painting (the painting that’s shown in the credits of the show) when he searched around trying to buy the painting.

After they talked about how Eddie now has that original painting by the late artist, Ernie Barnes, hanging up in his home inside of his blue colored bowling alley (it must be nice, LOL), they went on to discuss their favorite moments on “Good Times,” which we’re sure many of our fellow Old Schoolers will be able to relate to.

Eddie said he has too many favorite “Good Times” episodes to name, but one of his favorites was the funeral episode after “James” died. You know the one when “Florida” eventually cried out “Damn, damn, DAMN!”

Jimmy and Eddie went on to reminisce about some of their other favorite things about the show, including how it seemed like “James” was getting laid off from work every damn week and how “James” was the most realistic TV father figure for both them back in the day.

About I Love Old School Music

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
