Falsely Accused Central Park Exoneree Speaks Out Amid Major Backlash Prosecutor Now Facing

When five male teenagers (4 African Americans and 1 Puerto Rican) made national headlines as the ‘Central Park Five’ rapists, it was the worst days of their lives, but the nightmare was only just beginning for Antron McCray, Yusef Salaam, Korey Wise, Raymond Santana and Kevin Richardson.

As y’all already know, in 1989 the five teens were falsely convicted for raping and assaulting a then 28 year old White female jogger, Trisha Meili, and attacking others in Manhattan, NY’s Central Park. DNA found on Meili did not match any of the 5 teens, who also revealed that police forcibly coerced them into giving false videotaped confessions. Yet, they were convicted of the crimes anyway and served between 6 to 15 years in prison.

It was only in 2001, after already imprisoned serial rapist, Matias Reyes, came forward as Meili’s rapist, that the Central Park Five were exonerated of all charges. Even still, Linda Fairstein- the former lead prosecutor- stood by her push for the teens’ wrongful prosecution.

In ’89, Fairstein reportedly sealed their forced confessions immediately, prohibiting the jury from seeing them. Fast forward to today, and Linda Fairstein is gettin’ her a$$ handed to her on a silver platter all up n’ down social media, in what has now become a movement…
