Halle Finally Responds To The Very Young R&B Singer Who Tried To “Holla” At Her Online

Posted On : August 4, 2017

Is there an R&B singer who has a crush on Halle Berry? Well, apparently, there is a 32 year old singer who tried to shoot his shot at the 50 year old actress, by sending her a private message on social media recently. That singer is Trey Songz and in fact, the funniest part is probably Halle Berry’s reaction. She’s actually admitted she didn’t quite understand Trey’s lingo…

‘For the Culture’:

While promoting her new film Kidnap, Halle Berry chatted with BET and shared details about Trey’s attempt to holler at her on social media. Apparently, Halle wasn’t familiar with what Trey meant by “doin it for the culture.” “What does that mean? You ‘slid into my DMs for the culture?'” Halle said. “I don’t even know what that sentence means. Do you? I don’t know what to respond because I don’t know what that means.”

Keepin’ It Real:

After the brief comical moment about Trey, Halle turned her attention to more serious topics. Although she’s had monumental success during her career and she’s admired by fans all over the world, she admitted she still doesn’t believe she’s conquered it all. In fact, she feels like she’s still fighting for what’s hers.

“I think, yeah, I’m fighting as a woman, which is why making this movie was no small feat,” she said. “I think it’s really hard for women to be seen as we really are in film and we have to fight for those roles, but this summer, the great summer for women across the board — not just women of color. We’ve got Wonder Woman, we’ve got Atomic Blonde, we’ve got Girls Trip. Women are, I think, starting to find a new voice. There’s something different in the energy right now and this summer, to me, is kind of proof of that.”

Halle Berry’s latest film, Kidnap, is set to hit theaters nationwide on Friday, August 4.

About I Love Old School Music

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
