Well ILOSM fam,’ it’s official. We previously reported that actor/hip hop DJ, Idris Elba (45), was rumored to be dating a beautiful woman, whom thousands of Somalis across social media instantly recognized her features as being one of their own. Turns out they were correct about both things- she is of Somali, Africa decent, and she is definitely Idris’ girlfriend. That last part was just confirmed by the typically private Idris, himself, on Friday (Sept. 9, 2017).

As many Elba fans know, he is usually pretty low-key about his love life, unless it’s something really serious, which was the case with the the very few relationships we’ve seen him confirm publicly. But after appearing at the Toronto Film Festival on Friday, for the premier of his latest film, The Mountain Between Us, with his new lady, Sabrina Dhowre, on his arm, Idris had Black women from Africa to America, rejoicing because they were just happy to see him with a Black woman.

Via TheSunUK: A source said: “It’s believed Idris and Sabrina have been dating for around seven months. They’re having a great time getting to know each other and Idris feels strongly enough about Sabrina for them to be talked about in public. Having her on his arm on a red carpet shows how serious he is about her as he doesn’t do these things lightly. He usually likes to keep that side of his life private but he’s proud to show Sabrina off on his arm. It’s been a different story for Sabrina, who has uploaded several pictures of Idris to her Snapchat account.”

When asked about marriage during his July (2017) Essence interview, here’s what Idris said:

“Am I ever gonna get remarried? I don’t think so. Marriage is an institution of sorts, and I’ve done it. It’s not for everybody. It’s not my life’s calling.”
