Many of you may recall when we recently reported that the son of Jermaine Jackson and his ex-wife, Hazel Gordy (Berry Gordy’s daughter) welcomed his first baby into the world on January 20, 2017.

Forty year old Jermaine Jackson, Jr. and his longtime girlfriend/Shahs of Sunset reality TV star, Asa Rahmati Soltan (40), were the talk of the internet after the news broke. The first time parents were beyond happy and grateful and Asa took to social media to express their excitement.

Little did any of us know though, the happy couple had one of the most terrifying ordeals during the birth of their now 1 and a half month old son, Soltan Jackson. In a recent interview with Daily Dish, Asa has just revealed that she had to have emergency surgery after the life of baby Soltan was in jeopardy:

“I [went] through 14 hours of hardcore labor. I mean, it’s crazy the kind of pain you’re going through. It’s not even pain; it’s some other thing,’ Asa explained to The Daily Dish. “When your water breaks, you don’t contract so they give you this medication to start your contractions. And that medicine makes your blood pressure come down, so they gave me a medication to bring my blood pressure up.”

‘And Soltan didn’t like it. His heartbeat went from 152 to 40, it just dropped within 30 seconds. Long story short, I ended up having to have an emergency C-section, but I feel so blessed because he was perfect. His [Apgar] score was 9 out of 10 and nobody gets a 10, so he was a perfect baby.’

Asa: ‘He Looks Like Jermaine Jr. with Persian Hair’

Asa also gushed about how handsome her lil’ man is and how much he resembles his Pops, “but with Persian hair and an Asa chin,” Asa stated. “He’s so gorgeous!…He has such a personality. He’s really macho and he’s a tough guy and I can already see it.”

Asa & Jermaine Go WAY Back, The Family Loves Her

Jermaine and Asa have known each other since the age of 15, soon after Asa came to America as a Persian-speaking immigrant from Iran. They’ve dated for years, but we aren’t sure if they plan to get married. But Asa made it clear in a past interview that they definitely would like to have a another baby…

Asa is very cool with both sides of her man’s iconic families- the Berry’s and the Jackson’s. She’s often seen hanging out with them on social media. In fact, a lot of ’em showed loved to she and Jermaine Jr. at their recent baby shower, just before Soltan was born…

Has Asa Met Janet Jackson’s Son Yet?

Nope. Here’s what she said about Janet and husband, Wissam’s, two month old son, Eissa:

“I can’t wait to meet [the 50-year-old pop diva’s two-month-old son] Eissa. I’m sure he’s so beautiful…I can’t wait until [Eissa and Soltan] play!”

By the way, much like his Auntie Janet, Jermaine Jackson Jr. is extremely private. So we probably won’t be seeing baby Soltan Jackson anytime soon, but we are very happy his grand entrance into this world turned out okay.

About I Love Old School Music

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
