Malcolm Jamar-Warner appeared on the TV show, “The Real”, and spoke candidly about Bill Cosby and The Cosby Show, and gave his opinion about how the legacy of The Cosby Show should be handled. He thinks The Cosby Show should get a pass, even in the midst of the massive amount of sexual allegations that the creator and star of the show, Bill Cosby is facing. It has been a valid argument ever since the accusations started flying, but Malcolm brings another point that, taking the show off the air is a lopsided reaction, since others who have been accused of sexual misconduct (and who, incidentally, are white) have not been treated this way.

An unspoken circumstance as a matter of the show being pulled off the air is the loss of money for it’s actors.

“It’s literally taking money out of my pocket,” Warner said during an appearance on The Real. “So I got my own personal feelings about that, because it personally affects me.”

“There is no one that has been calling for Woody [Allen]’s movies to be pulled off the air,” Warner said. “Roman Polanski is still celebrated. Stephen Collins’ show still comes on. So it’s just interesting how it’s very unbalanced.”

This does not mean, Warner was careful to note, that he was defending Cosby in any way, though.

“I am in no position to defend him, because I can’t,” he said. “But nor will I throw him under the bus.”

About I Love Old School Music

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
