Oh No, Patti Labelle Gets Ambushed By Protestors Inside Book Store

In case y’all didn’t know by now, there have been a string of celebs getting attacked by a small group of bold protestors over their disapproval of stars who rock fur items. They’ve been sneaking into venues, posing as fans ,and then suddenly verbally attacking celebs at various venues in an effort to embarrass them and bring awareness to their protest of those who wear animal fur by recording the entire ordeal.

Now, we all know that the legendary Ms. Patti LaBelle loves her some fur…she’s been sportin’ her fur coats for decades.  On Tuesday (4-25-17) the anti-fur protestors decided to protest Patti’s love for fur coats at a Barnes N’ Nobles bookstore in NYC. The 72 year old soul sangin’ diva was there signing autographs for the release of her new desert recipe book titled, Desserts Labelle, when the protestors posed as a group of fans, cheesed it up with Patti for a group fan photo, then all of sudden pulled out their signs and chanted “Patti Labelle has blood on her hands!”

Obviously Patti- who wasn’t wearing any fur at the time- and her camp were utterly surprised, but she handled it very well. She smiled at them and remained calm. The good thing is that when these protestors attack, they only do so verbally and pose no bodily threats to the celebs. The other good thing is that Patti’s people diffused the embarrassing situation much faster than Kelly Rowland’s camp did just a few weeks ago when she, too, was verbally ambushed by anti-fur protesters.

As soon as the protestors started chanting, Patti’s son, Zuri Edwards,  and other employees can be seen on the above video entering into the shot, getting the protestors out of there with the quickness. For Rowland, it didn’t quite move along so quickly.

Anywho, here is a pic of Patti rockin’ her fur alongside fellow songbird fur-rocker, Mary J. Blige…

Seems like anti-fur protesters have been after several African American singers lately, so Mary better have her people in place, just in case the fur warriors decide to bum-rush one of her events next.

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
