Wendy Williams is known for putting her foot in her mouth and it looks like she’s done it again. By now, everyone knows about the infamous segment on Wendy’s show where she discusses hot topics. Now that Mary J. Blige and Kendu Isaacs’ have officially split, it’s not a surprise their pending divorce would be a major topic of discussion. So, Wendy decided to weigh in.

What She Said:

In a nutshell, Wendy suggested Mary follow in the footsteps of Tina Turner and stay away from black men altogether. That’s right, Wendy believes Mary can resolve her man issues by getting a white man. Since Tina seems much happier with her white man, Wendy thinks Mary will be much happier too. At about the 9-minute mark, Wendy begins talking about Mary and Kendu.

The Reaction:

Of course, social media users aren’t too happy about Wendy’s statement. Although the controversial talk show host is known for offering unsolicited advice, people are still ticked off about the offensive statement toward black men. For those who don’t know, this isn’t the first time Wendy has taken a verbal jab at black people. A couple months ago, she found herself at the center of controversy for insulting statements she made about HBCUs and black people, in general.

“On the other hand, I would be really offended if there was a school that was known as a historically white college. We have historically black colleges. What if there was the National Organization for White People, only? There’s the NAACP,” Williams stated.

Will It Ever Stop?:

Wendy Williams even lost sponsors after making the bashing statement toward black universities. According to Love B. Scott, Wendy locked down an all-inclusive deal with Chevrolet, Carat Media and ACE Media Corp back in April.

The Wendy Williams Show was set to include an on-air promotion for the 2016 Chevy Impala, reports The Grio. But, unfortunately, the deal fell through following Wendy’s comments. However, it doesn’t look like that has stopped her from making offensive comments. So, it doesn’t look like Wendy will be making any changes anytime soon.

About I Love Old School Music

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
