More sad news today, as one half of the Jersey City group, P.M. Dawn has died. Singer Attrell Cordes, was 46 years old, and was best known as Prince Be.

Cordes passed away Friday at a New Jersey hospital home from kidney disease. He was 46. It appears Cordes was also living with diabetes. A post on the group’s Facebook page read, “Prince Be Rest In Peace forever more, Pain from Diabetes can’t harm you anymore.”

They’re best known for their #1 hit “Set Adrift on Memory Bliss.” And their song “I’d Die Without You” played at the classic moment on the movie “Boomerang” with Eddie Murphy & Halle Berry when Eddie Murphy’s character realized he couldn’t be without her.

About I Love Old School Music

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
