Only the true Old Schoolers are gonna remember this one! Remember when actor, Thomas Kent “T.K.” Carter, was part of the “Awesome Foursome” with “JJ” and his boys on Good Times? Let me refresh your memory real quick: “We’re Awesome Foursome until we are dead!” Does that line ring a bell? If not, still keep reading because this is pretty cool if I do say so myself.

The Awesome Foursome

We were watching an episode of Good Times yesterday, here at the ILOSM office, and when we saw the “Awesome Foursome” we were all like “Where they been at?!!” You may recall seeing T.K. Carter on a bunch of different movies and TV shows such as Punky Brewster, and as “Shabu” in Just Our Luck; and films like He’s My Girl, Seems Like Old Times with Chevy Chase and Goldie Hawn, The Thing, Southern Comfort, Dr. Detroit, and the last gig he was most known for was his role as the drug addict, “Gary McCullough,” on the former HBO series, The Corner, which I think was a classic drama series and was also when T.K. proved just how versatile his acting range was…the producers should have kept thing going a lil’ bit longer.

Anyways, we think that T.K. is a very talented cat and one of the most versatile actors in the game. He is also one of the most underrated and that’s why we wanted to feature him on here and give the man his well deserved props.

About I Love Old School Music

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
