Malinda Williams! Most of us remember her from the films The Wood, A Thin Line Between Love And Hate, and the Showtime series, Soul Food. She also had roles on The Cosby Show, and in several 90’s shows like Moesha, Sister 2 Sister, NYPD Blue, and others.

Did you get this one right? Malinda is 44 years old now, but she doesn’t look much different than her baby pic.

Time sure does fly, because it seems like just yesterday that Malinda was starring in kids roles on comedy shows, but she now has a kid of her own with her ex-husband, actor Mehki Phifer. She and Mehki were married from 1999 to 2003. She was also married to 80’s rapper, D-Nice (who is now a popular DJ) from 2008 to 2010.

So what is Malinda up to now? Well many of you might recall the recent movie that was released last year (2014) titled, Girlfriends Getaway, which also starred actresses Garcelle Beauvais, Terri J. Vaughn, and Essence Atkins. Check out the trailer for it below…

Malinda has also become a do-it-yourself hair guru. She has a popular webisode series on Youtube titled Mane Taming With Malinda Williams, where she demonstrates how to style and maintain short African American hairstyles. Ya’ gotta love a multi-talented woman!

Hopefully we’ll be seeing Malinda in more projects soon. Another Tyler Perry movie maybe? She did a great job in Tyler Perry’s Daddy’ Little Girls film by the way. We’ll be on the lookout for whatever Malinda has in the works next.

Malinda Williams is still very close to her Soul Food “sisters,” actresses Vanessa Williams (no relation) and Nicole Ari Parker…they are all just as beautiful as they were back in the day!

About I Love Old School Music

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
