She’s So Excited! Pointer Sister Gets THIS In Divorce From Hubby Of 35Yrs
Bonnie Pointer of the legendary Pointer Sisters is happier than a kid in a candy store right about now. As of yesterday, her divorce from her husband of 35 years/Motown Records producer, Jeffrey Bowen, is finally official and Bonnie got exactly what she wanted- to retain the rights to her music royalties. Although we’re not sure how much money that can actually generate for Bonnie, being that she left the group in 1978, after they had some success, but the height of the Pointer Sisters’ success didn’t come until 1980 with the release of their biggest selling hits, like “He’s So Shy” and others. Bonnie has had some tension with her sisters in the past though…
BONNIE POINTER'S CLAIMS AGAINT HER SISTERS
When the beloved sister and former member of the group, June Pointer (pictured far left), passed away in 2006, Bonnie made claims on "Entertainment Tonight," that her sisters, Anita and Ruth, did not respect their sister's wishes to be buried and cremated her because it was cheaper. Bonnie also said that they refused to let her ride in the limo with the family for the funeral.
According to several online reports, Ruth, Anita, and their brother, Fritz, fired back and said that they didn't let Bonnie in the limo because Bonnie was upset and demanded to be let back into the group or else she she would not attend June's funeral, but they weren't going for that.
