ILOSM fam’ we wanted to discuss something that is a very serious issue to all of us here at ILOSM. Over the past several weeks we’ve posted a couple articles about Bill Cosby and our most recent post on him was regarding the sexual assault allegation against him by a woman by the name of Barbara Bowman. Now, model/TV host Janice Dickinson has just stepped forward a couple days ago, with claims that Bill Cosby sexually assaulted her in 1982, but she said that she never reported it to authorities, nor confronted Bill Cosby about it.

Here’s her story:

[quote_box_center]Dickinson said she met Cosby after he said that he’d help her with her singing career. Her agent introduced them, hoping that she could get a job on “The Cosby Show.”
Dickinson said after dinner, she and Cosby were in her hotel room and he gave her some red wine and a pill. She told “Entertainment Tonight” she had asked for a pill because she had been suffering stomach pains.
“The next morning I woke up and I wasn’t wearing my pajamas and I remembered before I passed out I had been sexually assaulted by this man,” she said. [/quote_box_center]

Now, here’s where stories like this begin to get very touchy for us. Our ILOSM network goes out to 4 to 6 million people every week and we realize that we have the responsibility and obligation to present the news regarding Old School celebs, BUT it is of the upmost importance to give you accurate information- regardless of is it is good, bad, or ugly.

We do empathize with all parties involved, and with that said, let’s talk about these new Bill Cosby allegations. We DO NOT and NEVER WILL claim, or imply that we know the truth behind these allegations, unless we have hardcore evidence. Instead, we will simply be the vessel for that information to flow through. We DO NOT want to continue to fuel the rumor mill because that, in turn, can sway you, our ILOSM family, to draw a conclusion about Cosby that may or may not be true and at that point, its like becoming one of the 12 jurors on the stand, possibly convicting Cosby on the matter at hand, before receiving all of the facts. That’s why we think it is extremely important that we stress that these allegations are simply that – allegations at this point, until all of the factual evidence emerges.

Bill Cosby

We’ve witnessed time and time again, celebs who’ve been publicly persecuted, only to be proven that they were in fact, falsely accused, but because some media company may have decided to make up something with no factual proof, just to sell more copies of magazines, or get more advertising dollars for that week, we as viewers, actually started to give those stories lives of their own. As a result, we also form a conclusion based on inaccurate, or incomplete data.

We at ILOSM feel that our ILoveOldSchoolMusic community deserves to be given the truth and detailed information. If we do not know the truth, you will NEVER see us claiming to know the truth, nor fueling the fire of the rumor mill, but you can always count on us to simply be the messenger/vessel for information on Old School celebs.

So does this mean that we will not post about this Bill Cosby story ever again? Maybe, maybe not. It solely depends on whether or not we feel that we have pertinent information that is important to the quest of learning from this story and pushing humanity forward. Thanks for reading this.
