Tatyana Ali has announced double good news with her fans that she is expecting her first child and that she has a new fiancee. She labeled her news “Wife and Mommy all at the same time.” The thing that caught many folks off guard was that she revealed that she met her fiancee, Dr. Vaughn Raspberry, on an online dating site, eHarmony.

Most people sent them well wishes, but some also wondered why someone as known and as beautiful and successful as Ali would have to go to a dating site to find the dude of her dreams.Well, we don’t have the answer to that, but what we do know is that the two lovebirds look happy and we give them a big congratulations. They show that there should never be limitations on how we allow love to come into our lives. Here’s what Tatyana revealed:

“Planning our wedding has been so exciting, but when we found out we were expecting, our perspective shifted completely. We want our ceremony to really celebrate our newest blessing!”

Raspberry proposed to Tatyana while they were hiking in the Redwoods in Yosemite, which she described as:

“The most picturesque clearing. Just the two of us. It was so thoughtful and perfect. We’re best friends.”

Tatyana and her new man have been dating for a year and a half and although they dated online, Tatyana said they proceeded with caution:

“It was my first time dating online. We wrote letters for months before we decided to Skype. And then, of course, met.”

A word to the wise if you plan to follow in their footsteps with the online dating though: Be careful who you hook up with online, they might be all good on that first date, but by the that third date rolls around, some signs of being (in my Martin Lawrence “You So Crazy” voice) ‘crazy, de-raaanged’ might pop out. Anyways, good thing for Tatyana Ali and Raspberry, that is not the case and we wish them a lifetime of happiness with their little bundle of joy on the way.
