The verdict is in on singer, Ashanti’s craaaaazy, de-raaaanged stalker! If you recall, a few days ago we filled you all in on what Ashanti (35) was unfortunately being subjected to in a Manhattan, NY court, as she was forced to get grilled on the stand by her delusional stalker, Devar Hurd (37)…he was representing himself in his felony stalking case that had him locked up since 2013 after he’d stalked Ashanti a SECOND time since 2009.

On Friday (3-18-16), the verdict was in and the jury agreed that dude is crazy and needs to stay locked up a lil’ while longer, just so he can learn how to restrain his crazy tendencies and leave Ashanti the hell alone.

stalker2The jury found Hurd guilty of 2nd degree stalking, after he gave his closing arguments Thursday (3-17-16) and argued that although he’d sent hundreds of foul, raunchy, sexual text messages and tweets to Ashanti, he shouldn’t get locked up for it because he said that sending sexually explicit content is not a crime, nor is excessive tweeting considered stalking, and he also said that Ashanti could have just ‘blocked’ him.

We don’t know what world this dude lives in, but when you have were already convicted in 2009 for stalking and your stalkee (Ashanti) had an active order of protection against you, but you continued to send her HUNDREDS of tweets AFTER your ’09 conviction; and when you showed up to various events in attempts to get closer to her sister and family, and even included several sex-crazed tweets to Ashanti about how you would like to perform oral sexual acts on her, uh….THAT’S STALKING BRUH!

Like we said, Hurd has been behind bars since 2013, but after his upcoming sentencing hearing on March 31st, he could get between 1.5 to 4 years added to his sentence.

After Hurd gets out, somebody needs to call up Iyanla Vanzant and help this brotha ‘fix his life.’

Thankfully Ashanti will remain safe.
