Tyrese just made a big announcement on social media that has many of his fans wondering if he’s just doing a lil’ wishful thinking, or if this is the real deal.

He took to Instagram to announce that he and his homegirl, actress Taraji P. Henson, will be shooting a sequel that fans have waited for for 16 years- a Baby Boy sequel that is. Here’s what he posted…

Although Baby Boy wasn’t a mega-success at the box office, it eventually became a 2001 cult classic for a few reasons: (1) Tyrese’s and Taraji’s chemistry was so good that fans actually thought they dated in real life; and (2) it was Taraji’s debut film, where she solidified herself as a force to be reckoned with for her portrayal of that ’round the way girl who represents the everyday female that many of us can relate to.

Now fans on his Instagram page wanna know if Tyrese is just playing with our emotions and getting our blood pressure up with anticipation for something that may, or may not happen.

After seeing Tyrese shout out director, John Singleton, we also did a lil’ diggin’ to try to determine if this was for real and so far we haven’t seen any evidence that Singleton has made such announcement. But for those who have been waiting to see “Jody” (Tyrese) and “Yvette” (Taraji) link back up again…you may be in luck. Only time will tell, meanwhile…

Meanwhile…

Meanwhile, Tyrese is still celebrating his newlywed life with his biracial wife, whom he caused quite a bit of controversy over after referring to her as “Black Queen” on Instagram. Then afterwards, clapping back at his female fans who gave him flack over it, by comparing his wife’s “natural beauty” to their assumed ‘fake beauty,’ ‘fake hair,’ and ‘fake bodies.’ Check out his recent posts of his wife below…

Good to see he’s enjoying life…we’re looking forward to that possible “Baby Boy” sequel though, because both he and Taraji are even more seasoned actors now, so a reunion on screen could be epic.
