Uh Oh…Jada Pinkett-Smith Called Out By ‘All Eyez On Me’ Actress Over Film

Posted On : June 21, 2017

Last week, Jada Pinkett-Smith turned a few heads when she criticized Tupac Shakur’s newly-released biopic, All Eyez On Me. The Set It Off actress tweeted that the depiction of her relationship with ‘Pac was “deeply hurtful.” Even though she blamed the directors and producers for the inaccurate representation, she applauded Demetrius Shipp Jr. (who plays Tupac) and Kat Graham (who portrays Jada) for their acting in the film. Now, Kat is speaking out and putting Jada on blast a little at the same time.

Other Side of the Story: It Was All Good Just A Week Ago

Although Jada’s disputing the film’s accuracy, Kat Graham is telling a whole ‘nother story. According to the All Eyez On Me actress who portrayed the veteran actress in the film, Jada was contacted to ensure the integrity of the film, reports E! News. In fact, Kat revealed she reached out to Jada after she landed the role over a year ago and she also claims it was all good just a week ago:

“When I first got the role, I reached out to [her] a year and a half ago. The point of reaching out to her, as well as the other producers on the film, was to ensure the integrity of the story and the character. I even spoke to her last week and she had nothing but support,” Kat said.

She even went on to reveal details about her conversation with Jada just one week before the film was released. Kat claims Jada was supportive of the film at that time. “I have a lot of love for her. I hope people just see the movie and make the choice for themselves.”

Jada’s Remarks:

Kat Graham’s statements follow Jada’s remarks via Twitter. On June 16, the day the film was released, Jada took to Twitter with a series of tweets about the film. “Forgive me,” Jada wrote, “My relationship to Pac is too precious to me for the scenes in ‘All Eyez On Me’ to stand as truth.” She continued,”The reimagining of my relationship to Pac has been deeply hurtful.”

Here are some of the tweets:

As expected, Jada’s comments sparked quite a few debates on social media. But at the end of the day, everyone’s going to have an opinion so Jada’s entitled to hers. However, Kat Graham’s statements have definitely put a different spin on things.

About I Love Old School Music

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
