Uh Oh! Nick Gordon To Be Held ‘Legally Responsible’ For Bobbi Kristina’s Death

Posted On : September 16, 2016

ILOSM fam, things just got alot worse for Nick Gordon. According to 11 Alive, Nick will be held “legally responsible” for the death of Bobbi Kristina Brown, the late daughter of singers Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown. However, the court ruling isn’t exactly what you’d think. Although most people would think the term “legally responsible” would mean Nick is guilty of murder, there’s a bit more to it.

The Reason For The Ruling:

Apparently, Nick isn’t taking the allegations seriously because he’s failed to appear in court twice. Since Nick was a no-show, the judge said “anything alleged by the plaintiff is admitted through omission,” according to PEOPLE magazine. So, in a nutshell, Nick’s failure to appear in an Atlanta court today is being considered a form of forfeiture. Now, the judge will determine how much of the $50 million in damages will be awarded to Bobbi Kristina’s estate.

Statement From the Brown Family Attorney:

Following the ruling, Brown’s estate attorney R. David Ware released a statement on behalf of the family during a press conference filmed by 11 Alive outside of the Atlanta court.

“In court today, we finally finished a long journey for justice for Bobbi Kristina Brown,” Ware said during the press conference. “The court agrees with us, by striking Mr. Gordon’s answer that he is legally responsible for her death. The only thing left to prove is the value of her life. We intend to do that.”

How This Happened:

The circumstances surrounding Bobbi Kristina Brown’s death are still unclear but it was rumored that she and Nick Gordon had a tumultuous relationship. In fact, Nick Gordon was accused of abusing Bobbi Kristina and giving her a toxic cocktail that ultimately led to her overdose. On Jan. 30, 2015, Bobbi Kristina was found unconscious in a bathtub at her Roswell, GA townhouse. The scene was eerily similar to Whitney Houston’s death which occurred Feb. 11, 2012.
