ILOSM fam, it looks like Toni Braxton is facing trouble with Uncle Sam yet again. According to The Jasmine Brand, the “Unbreak My Heart” singer is accused of refusing to pay the $124,000 in back taxes that she owes. Now, the state of California has filed a tax lien against her.

The Latest Tax Lien:

It has been reported that the official tax lien documents were filed on August 17 in Los Angeles, CA. The Braxton Family Values star owes $124,316.

What Next:

If Toni refuses to pay the lien or cannot come up with the funds to do so, her assets and property – including royalties, cars, jewelry, music income, and paintings – could be seized again. This situation is an extremely unfortunate setback for the Grammy Award-winning singer because this isn’t her first time facing this type of legal issue. Toni Braxton has filed for bankruptcy twice over the past 20 years.

Toni’s Previous Tax Issues:

The first time she filed in the late 90s, Toni revealed she only received a royalty check fo $1,972 despite more than $170 million in worldwide record sales. The record label argued that Toni reportedly spent most of the funds through advances. She also admitted her world tour cost a fortune.

For the second bankruptcy, Toni claimed she was facing $10-$15 million worth of debt but only had $1-$10 million in assets. She reportedly owed $13,608,116 to her former label, over one million dollars to Atlantic Records, $335,000 to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), $1.4 million to Wells Fargo, and roughly $39,000 to Gwinnett County, GA for unpaid taxes.

The latest tax lien comes less than two years since she was discharged from her last bankruptcy case. Hopefully, Toni can get this latest tax bill resolved without having her assets and property seized.

Maybe Birdman Can Help???

Well being that Birdman purchased a $250K+ car for Toni Braxton, that was enough to solve her tax problem and downgrade to a nice Range Rover Supercharge. Still a $100K+ car, but hey…everyone would have been happy!

If you didn’t know, ever since word got around that Toni Braxton and Birdman were dating, Toni has been radio silent on the topic, although she didn’t shy away from being seen in public with ‘Mr. Respeck on it.’ Well now she’s broken her silence in her interview with “Access Hollywood” and revealed what her Mom really thinks about her rumored boyfriend, as well as another detail about her relationship with Birdman that made us say “Hmmm…”

During the interview, Toni raised eyebrows when she said Birdman is nothing more than her “bestie”:

Toni said “He’s [Birdman] a sweetheart, we’ve been friends since 2001. He’s one of my dearest besties friends, like for example, when I had my baby shower, he and his 20 guys came to the baby shower. We had hats and the whole tea party. We’ve been friends forever.”

The thing many probably didn’t expect, is what Toni’s Mom, Evelyn, thinks about Birdman:

“My Mom wants us to [date]. My Mom’s always says ‘You guys have been friends forever, maybe you should’…My Mom LOVES him, he’s such a sweetheart…[but] we’re just BESTIES,” says Toni.
