By now, everyone has heard or read about Donald Trump’s petty, insulting tweeted about Oprah Winfrey. As expected, angry fans quickly came to Oprah’s defense blasting the controversial president for his offensive words. But despite all the hate directed toward Oprah, she hadn’t said a word – until now. When Oprah recently appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, of course, she was asked about the jaw-dropping tweet. In true Oprah fashion, she took the high road and responded with class.

According to EURWeb, Oprah was asked what she thought of the tweets and she had a fairly simple reaction to the drama. Apparently, she’s unbothered by Trump’s antics. “I don’t like giving negativity power so I just thought, ‘What?’” Oprah said. “I woke up and I just thought…”

When Oprah appeared on 60 Minutes last Sunday, she openly discussed the political turmoil and government issues, and currently plaguing the United States under Trump’s leadership. Of course, Trump frowns upon any form of perceived criticism. So, he wasted no time firing off after the segment aired. For those who haven’t seen his tweet, check it out below:

No Negative Energy:

Even after Trump’s negative Twitter rant, Oprah admitted she still attempted to understand his argument. She revealed she actually went back and watched the segment again. What I actually really did was I went back and looked at the tape to see if there was any place that could be true. Did I feel like it was slanted or bias?” Winfrey said. “I went back and I looked at every tape. I called the producer, because what actually happened was when you do ’60 Minutes,’ you sit in a room with at least seven other people who critique the piece before you air it, before you do the introduction to it, and then they give you the critique. They critique every word.”

Although Oprah attempted to give Trump the benefit of the doubt, we all know the real reason for his rant. He just hates the opinion of others. Kudos to Oprah Winfrey for speaking her mind.

About I Love Old School Music

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
