R&B group, Xscape is letting it be known that they are not letting Kandi’s departure stop the show. Debuting a new name and new music, Xscape wants fans to know that the despite the fact that they are older, married ladies with children, they still are capable of producing hits. Remaining Xscape members, Tamika Scott, LaTocha Scott and Tiny Harris, have changed their group name to XSCAP3.

On the Xscape Instagram page, the ladies are seen dancing and singing as they reveal their new music. XSCAP3 is currently filming a documentary that will follow the group and offer an in-depth look at the lives of each group member. Tamika Scott wants fans to know that the ladies are not going through a “mid-life crisis”. However, even though they are no longer in their 20’s, they still like to have fun. The ladies have a new song, Here For It, that they feel will resonate with fans.

In speaking to MadameNoire, Kandi Burruss-Tucker has no beef with the ladies. The love is still there, however, it is important for Kandi to maintain the legacy of Xscape. Even though the Grammy award winning reality star is on Broadway as Big Mama Morton in Chicago, the mother of 2 doesn’t want to tarnish Xscape’s record of platinum hits.

As soon as the girls and I started talking initially I had told them I didn’t really want to do new music and the main reason is because I feel like I don’t want to mess with our legacy, Burruss told MadameNoire. When we were a group we had three platinum albums, all of our albums were hits, we never had a flop album and things are not how they used to be back then.

The great thing about the remaining members of Xscape is that their group name is slightly different. So, if their record sales don’t go as planned, it won’t affect Xscape. Maybe once Kandi sees that the ladies are still able to produce hits, she’ll join in on the fun. If not, the ladies are still pushing forward and making money moves.

About I Love Old School Music

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
