I remember watching Sammy star in a movie titled “A Man Called Adam” co-starring Cicely Tyson and Ossie Davis, where Sammy played a jazz trumpet player, and I wondered if Sammy was playing for real. Well he actually didn’t really play the trumpet in that movie, but he did play the trumpet in some Rat Pack concerts and at the Apollo theater in the 70s. This cat did it all, didn’t he?!!

We also can’t forget about this other talent he had. Check out some footage of him doing tricks with a pistol, just like he used to do in those western movies back in the day. He performed his pistol routine on “The Tonight Show” or one of his friends’ shows like Frank Sinatra’s or Dean Martin’s TV variety shows.” Check him out here…
