Wendy Williams Loses MAJOR SPONSORSHIP Deals After Negative NAACP Comments

Posted On : July 11, 2016

Wendy Williams has always been notorious for making comments and statements that always involve an element of shock. It’s been her business for a long time. Last week she made some offensive comments, denouncing the need for HBCUs and the NAACP. Now, it seems as the talk show maven’s words cost her big time as a major sponsor for her show has reportedly backed out, with the facilitator of the deal being an HBCU alumna.

According to LoveBScott, Wendy has lost some major sponsorship money as Chevrolet has allegedly backed out of their deal with the Wendy Williams Show after her anit-HBCU and NAACP comments. It is also being reported that Andrea Holmes Thompkins, President and CEO of ACE Media Corp — the company solely responsible for orchestrating the Chevrolet partnership — is an alum of Howard University, an HBCU.

“On the other hand, I would be really offended if there was a school that was known as a historically white college. We have historically black colleges. What if there was the National Organization for White People, only? There’s the NAACP,” said Wendy.

This could possibly go away if Wendy Williams apologized and said that she “misspoke”, but allegedly refuses to apologize. LoveBScott is also reporting that Roland Martin has been invited to appear on The Wendy Williams Show on today. His appearance comes after he read Wendy for filth on his TVOne show in response to her comments.

“If you actually bothered to read a book and not gossip magazines, you might know these things,” said Roland. “Wendy let me help you out. When you’re on TV and have no idea what you’re talking about, shut the hell up. Don’t open your mouth. Don’t embarrass yourself. Because you sound silly.”

About I Love Old School Music

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
