Okay before we get into this, let’s just say “Do you want my arm to fall off?” for old times sake. Billy Dee Williams and that classic Lady Sings The Blues line will forever be synonymous in the minds of most of us old schoolers.

He was spotted at LAX airport the other day, with his swag game on level 100! The brotha who is known as one of the most iconic sex symbol superstars of all time, turned 80 years young on April 6, 2017, and if you thought he lost his cool points as a result of reaching his 8th decade mark, thing again.

Apparently he’s having a little leg trouble at the moment, so he had to walk with the assistance of a cane, but when it came time to stroll all the way through the airport, he opted for a wheelchair instead. He did not go unnoticed by onlookers though, who couldn’t help but draw to the dude in the denim ‘fit and sunglasses, with his signature slicked back ponytail on point. Gotta love it!

Also, if you thought Billy Dee was slowing down in the acting department, think again…he will be starring in ABC’s new “Dirty Dancing” TV remake of the 80s film, playing the role of bandleader, ‘Tito.’ Now that ought to be interesting, because I don’t think there were too many, if any, African American roles in the original version of the film. So Mr. Williams’ presence alone, should give the series an interesting twist. We’ll be watchng. Happy belated birthday Billy Dee!

About I Love Old School Music

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
