After J.Lo’s Confusing Grammys Motown Tribute, Many Fans Wish They Could ‘Un-see’ It
Soooo….Grammy’s, y’all couldn’t find phone numbers on any other soulful artists to replace that odd Motown tribute by J. Lo? Sure, the iconic Smokey Robinson accompanied Jennifer Lopez, but it would’ve been a million times more uh…fitting if he was actually accompanying artists who could truly SANG and represent the Motown movement to the fullest.
In case y’all missed it, ‘Jenny from the block’ sashayed and shimmy’d her way through a pop-inspired Vegas casino-like rendition of Motown medleys to commemorate classic hits of Black music icons.
It’s unclear if Motown’s living legends- like Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight, The Jacksons, etc.- were all booked and busy that day. However, pretty sure the Grammys would NOT be getting dragged online right now, if J.Lo wouldn’t have been the premiere artist for the Motown tribute, while a few Black artists simply served as the tribute’s side dish.
Don’t get me wrong, J.Lo’s dance moves were on point, but unfortunately for J.Lo, Motown is a record label and not a dance organization…
