“Today I’m 20 pounds heavier, feel much prettier, single AF, happier, and so amazingly worthy.”

Ex-wife of Usher Raymond has had her share of hardships. Not only are we familiar with the highly publicized divorce from Usher, we also know about the loss of her beautiful son, Kile Glover. Kile Glover died after an accident in July of 2012. Tameka Foster shared her son with an Atlanta television executive Ryan Glover, whom she was previously married to prior to Usher.

Peace and Acceptance

In a beautiful article on Essence, it is pointed out that Tameka Foster is in a great place of peace and acceptance.

The mother of three, who was married to singer Usher from 2007 to 2009, posted a #TBT photo from 10 years ago when her life was in a much darker place. Thankfully, she looks back on this moment with gratitude.

How Tameka Raymond’s Plastic Surgery Went Wrong

Two months after giving birth to the couple’s second son, Raymond, 38, traveled to Brazil to have liposuction on her stomach, says Ellen Dasptry, a rep for Sao Paulo plastic surgeon Dr. Silvio Sterman, who was to have performed the surgery.

“Tameka Raymond came here on Friday to do a liposuction. Shortly after she went under [general] anesthesia, she suffered a cardiac arrest,” Dasptry said.

“When an attack like this happens, the doctors put the patient to sleep… and make sure that everything is okay and that there has not been any damage,” explains Dasptry. “This is the protocol every time and this is what was done.”

After a day in the ICU, Raymond was transferred to a larger facility, Sao Paulo’s Hospital S rio-Liban s, considered one of the finest in Brazil, says Dasptry.

Though Tameka and Usher’s longstanding fallout from their divorce and custody battle is finally settled, the divorcées seem to be on friendly terms. They were last seen posing for a picture together with music executive Jon Platt at the City of Hope Gala last October.

Now She’s Living In Gratitude And Acceptance

“Feeling grateful today. 10 years ago today I suffered a cardiac arrest in Brazil. #Flatlined #IDied,” she writes in the reflective caption. “I was married, publicly shamed and didn’t ever feel like I was enough, pretty enough, exotic enough, slim enough, light enough, worthy enough. Funny part… Today I’m 20 pounds heavier, feel much prettier, single AF, happier, and so amazingly worthy.”

About I Love Old School Music

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
