Ever since countless stories of rape/sexual assault victims have surfaced in recent months, one thing has become clear: there is a fine line between victim shaming and suspicions of false claims. As we continue to cover pending claims against Russell Simmons, Harvey Weinstein, Bill Cosby and others, it seems as though some accusers’ claims are bogus, while other claims have appear to have some type of validity. However, sniffing out the BS claims in the midst of possible real ones, are waters that should always be treaded lightly until the accused are proven guilty or innocent, or the accusers are proven liars or heroes.

Good News For Nelly

As of today though, there is good news for one of the celebs accused- Nelly, who was recently accused of raping a college student on his tour bus, is that he can now officially rejoice and say ‘Undelay-undelay-mami-ee-I-ee-I’ oh NOOOO, not today! The other day, Washington State prosecuters officially dropped the pending rape charge against him, in what appeared to be a pretty bogus claim from the jump..

Accuser’s Prior Clams

In October 2017, Nelly was made headlines after he was accused of rape by an unidentified woman, who claimed he raped her on his tour bus. She said the alleged crime happened while his bus was parked in a Walmart lot in Washington, where he was performing. She told law enforcement that the alleged rape went down at 3:48 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7th.

Why Suspicions Of False Allegations Were Raised

There were a few factors that contributed to the woman’s claims seeming bogus at that time:
1. Nelly was soon arrested, but released without charges just hours later after authorities found no evidence to back up the woman’s claims.

2. Nelly really didn’t quite seem guilty, after he immediately took to social media, as soon as he stepped outta jail, to shoot down the woman’s “false” allegations in a flurry of tweets and he vowed from the very beginning to seek legal justice against her:

3. After Nelly’s legal threat for justice, the woman almost immediately dropped out of the case, claiming that she didn’t want her face and name to be tarnished over this. However, prosecutors decided to keep going forward, without her, to take Nelly down…until now…

Nelly Now Seeks Justice

Now that his name is cleared of all charges, Nelly is clappin’ back with a vengeance against his prior accuser, because she has greatly tarnished his reputation, according to him and his attorney:

Via TMZ- Prosecutors in Washington State dropped the case this week, saying the accuser wasn’t cooperating and therefore they couldn’t proceed. Nelly’s attorney Scott Rosenblum isn’t surprised and tells us, “Nelly has suffered very real damage to his reputation. He has incurred economic loss and painfully has watched his family suffer. As a result Nelly is planning to proceed with litigation as the first step in restoring his reputation.” Rosenblum says Nelly recognizes real victims of sexual assault need to be heard, and adds that’s why they’re going after his accuser. “This type of reckless false allegation cannot be tolerated as it is an affront to the real survivors of sexual assault.”

Justice Should Be Served On Both Sides

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again:
– IF a celebrity turns out to be PROVEN guilty of whatever claims are against he/she, then they should pay for their crime and be shown no special treatment simply because they’re a celeb.

– However, IF an accuser is PROVEN to have falsely accused a celebrity (or any or anyone else) he/she to should definitely have to legally pay for their actions as well. In other words, justice should be served from both sides of the coin.
