Breaking: Jury Deadlocked In Cosby’s Case & Here’s What Judge Told Them Though

Posted On : June 15, 2017

After 30 hours of deliberating whether or not Bill Cosby was guilty – of sexual assault against Andrea Constand 13 years ago- the jury came back deadlocked, meaning the evidence and testimonies they’d heard were not enough to convince them unanimously either way.

This news apparently came as a shock to some spectators in the courtroom audience, because there were reports of someone crying.

After the jury handed the Norristown, PA judge their verdict, the judge told them to go back in and keep trying to come up with a definite vote. Check out what’s just been reported about this below:

Cosby accuser, Andrea Constand

Via USA Today: NORRISTOWN, Pa. — Crying was heard in the courtroom as the jury in the Bill Cosby sexual assault trial announced it was deadlocked on all three counts, after some 30 hours of deliberating, and Judge Steven O’Neill told them to try again. The jurors sent a note to O’Neill stating they “cannot come to a unanimous consensus on any of the counts.” But O’Neill denied a motion for a mistrial.

“The jury foreman has informed me that you are deadlocked,” O’Neill said as the jury reconvened in the courtroom. “Each of you has a duty to consult with one another…if it can be done without violence. But each of you must decide by yourself.” After reading his statement, jurors walked out, appearing sullen, as sounds of crying could be heard among spectators in the courtroom.

Although the trial was over a few days ago, Cosby has gone to the courthouse just to wait everyday since. It looks like he’ll be making a few more trips back there, until the jury comes up with the vote the judge is asking them for. We’ll keep y’all posted on this.
