It hasn’t even been a week since Michelle Williams and her man, Chad Johnson, made headlines because of their engagement and there’s already drama. Apparently, lots of fans are givin’ Chad the side eye because his beliefs seem a bit… well… questionable. Media outlets have uncovered one interesting fact about Chad. According to Bossip, it looks like Chad is a right-wing, Trump supporter. But, that’s not all. Unfortunately, it gets a little worse.

A Staunch Republican?:
It has been reported that there are a few conflicting, hypocritical details about Pastor Chad Johnson. While he obviously has his good qualities, he has a few beliefs that have fans giving him the side eye. All the drama started when Tariq Nasheed, a known political activist, called out Pastor Johnson on Twitter. On April 23, Nasheed took to Twitter and revealed Chad’s political views.
It Gets Worse
In addition to being an avid Trump supporter, he also advocates for Blue Lives Matter. To many social media users, standing in support of Blue Lives Matter means Chad sends various messages. By now, most people know Blue Lives Matter was created in response to Black Lives Matter, an international activist movement created in response to all of the officer-involved shootings of unarmed African-Americans. Supporting Blue Lives Matter sends a message that totally disregards the purpose of Black Lives Matter.
Since Chad, who serves as lead pastor at Elevate International, reportedly mentors black youths, many people are wondering how he can be on both sides of the fence. While supporting Blue Lives Matter doesn’t mean you support police-involved shootings, we all know how law enforcement agencies are when it comes to controversy: they believe in the idea of “us against them.” As a Trump support and a Blue Lives Matter advocate, there are definitely questions about what Chad really stands for.

Since media outlets have uncovered details about Chad, of course, there’s been a little digging to find social media posts that would give a little insight on Michelle’s political views. A tweet posted when Trump was on the campaign trail makes her sentiments quite clear. She’s no fan of Trump.

As expected, fans are definitely givin’ Michelle the side eye. Like Kanye West, fans are convinced the former Destiny’s Child singer is lost in the “sunken place.” However, others have shared their opinion of the relationship, itself. Based on Michelle’s tweet, fans see conflict arising in the relationship somewhere down the line because they are obviously on two different pages where politics are concerned. In fact, to many fans, it looks like religion may be the only area where they meet in the middle.

Michelle and Chad have yet to speak publicly about the latest reports but fans are definitely waiting to see how she responds. Although she obviously expressed disdain for Trump in previous months, fans are wondering if she’s taken the same approach as Mary Mary gospel singer Tina Campbell. For those who missed the drama with Tina, she was dragged to hell when she announced her support of Donald Trump. Then to make matters worse, Tina even admitted she voted for Trump. When asked about the situation, she urged people to pray for Trump since he’s in office and his actions could impact everyone. “I was faced with two presidential candidates that I really did not approve of,” Campbell elaborated. “And so I had to find something, a commonality with one of them, that would make me feel like if I have to vote, I should utilize my right to vote. Since I don’t prefer either of them, what can I find that would make me vote? And some of Donald Trump’s views on Christianity, honestly, is what caused me to vote for him.
She later admitted that she wasn’t too impressed with Trump after he began throwin’ his weight around in the Oval Office. “Many of the decisions that he has made afterwards, I have not been in agreement with at all, which I wasn’t in agreement with my last president that I voted for,” she added. “But however, as a Christian, my perspective is to pray for the president, to not use my social platforms or other platforms to try to destroy this man, because at the end of the day, he still represents the country that I live in.
“So if I’m going to use my platform, my power, my voice, I ought to use it to pray for him. To pray that he would make wise decisions, that he would be true to the oath that he took, and to not incite fear by talking about everything that’s wrong, especially with people that’s my color,” she explained further.
Michelle’s response to the drama should be interesting. Hopefully, she doesn’t have any regrets after tying the knot.
