I think every case is different. But in this case Smokey was not the best husband toward the end of their relationship and I’ve read many times that Claudette was the inspiration for many of Smokey’s songs. Just pay her the money, How much money do you really need anyway.

Even Smokey Robinson will tell you that Claudette is one of the most amazing, kind, loving and nurturing human beings on the planet. She is not vindictive and never would be and never has been. She was simply fighting for what she considered her rights and what was promised to her by Smokey. She was well within her rights to do this and obviouslyhe must have agreed by settling. They have always been close and loving even long after the divorce and I hope now that this is settled they get back to being that same couple.
