Woman Not Allowed To Go To Church, Forced to Work Sundays Awarded Millions
For over 10 years Marie Jean Pierre worked her finger to the bone for the Conrad Hotel in Brickell. She happily washed dishes and tidied rooms. The devout Catholic had only one request – she could not work Sundays. Pierre is a member of missionary group Soldiers of Christ.
She said the hotel knew about her religious beliefs, and that she couldn’t be scheduled for any work on Sunday. But suddenly she was being put forward for Sunday shifts. Pierre was eventually fired when co-workers could no longer cover for her.
