ILOSM family, as we all know- the year 2020 has been a crazy roller coaster ride thus far…and Mr. and Mrs. Smith have just added yet another peak to it.

When 27 year old R&B singer, August Alsina, recently dropped the bombshell -that Will Smith gave him “his blessing” to have a long term relationship with his wife, Jada Pinkett- Smith (48), for years- these social media streets went up in flames.

Welp, Jada has now brought herself to the “Red Table.” What fans were not expecting was for Will to be the one grilling her on her own talk show, as well as assisting her in the process of her having a ‘come to Jesus’ type confession about her affair.

At approximately the 2:00 mark of the latest “Red Table Talk” episode (video below), the Mr. and Mrs. jumped right into addressing August Alsina’s claims.

Jada stated, “About four and a half years ago…[I] started a franchise with August. … We actually became really, really good friends. It all started with him just needing some help. Me wanting to help his health, his mental state, ya’ know?”

The Smith’s revealed they’d met August when he was “really sick” and that the friendship started as a genuine need to want to assist him in his physical healing process as he recovered from an ongoing liver disease. They said this was also during a “difficult time” in their marriage and that they’d already “broke up” when August came into the picture.

Will honestly proclaimed to Jada, “I was done with your a$$” by that time. “We decided that we were going to separate for a period of time, and you go figure out how to make yourself happy, and I’ll figure out how to make myself happy,” he continued.

“At that particular time it was indefinite,” Jada chimed in.

Will also challenged Jada’s attempt to play down the seriousness of her past relationship with August, when she referred to her affair as an “entanglement.” Will replied, “Entanglement?,” to which Jada then fessed up and called it what it was, “a relationship.”

Jada continued, “I was in a lot of pain, and I was very broken. In the process of that relationship, I definitely realized that you can’t find happiness outside of yourself. Luckily enough, you and I were also going through a process of healing in a much different manner. I would definitely say that we did everything that we could to get away from each other, only to realize that wasn’t possible.”

Will also asked Jada what she was looking for during her affair, to which she responded, “I just wanted to feel good…it had been a loooong time since I’d felt good.” She says it was “a joy” to “help heal somebody,” confessing that is the result of her “codependency.”

As you’ve probably heard, during his interview with “The Breakfast Club” co-host, Angela Yee, August Alsina came clean about he and Jada. The confession was so emotional for him, that the brotha damn near was about to cry over the heartbreak he says Jada dealt him, nearly causing him to become suicidal.  He revealed that he’d finally decided to end their relationship, the day after his beloved sister passed away on December 25, 2018.

August admitted that deciding to leave Jada “butchered me” and “broke me DOWN,” but he knew he had to do it because he was tired of Jada allegedly toying with his emotions.

Jada has now admitted that it is “totally understandable” why August left her and cut ALL communication with her, after she begin rekindling flames with her hubby, Will. Although, according to both of their accounts, it kinda sounds like Jada wasn’t yet ready to cut August out of the picture. Geesh! This is a lot.

Jada seemingly took advantage of August during an extremely vulnerable time in his life. However, the fact that both she and Will were willing to publicly discuss the intricacies of not only her affair, but also their heartbreaking struggles and separation within their marriage, deserves a round of applause in my humble opinion. On the flip side, August Alsina deserves applause as well, for finally having the courage to speak his truth. He maintains that he will always love the entire Smith family, because they were once very close.

That’s true grown folks love right there. We all make mistakes and/or bad decisions at times…but we live and we learn. Moral of the story: We must all learn to live in our truths in order to free ourselves, no matter how heartbreaking that journey may be in the process to get to the other side of healing.

Jada Pinkett-Smith has bonded with singer, August Alsina, whom she credits for helping her finally get over unresolved issues she had with her late friend, Tupac. August, credits Jada for being there when he needed unconditional, familial type love the most.

Over the past few years, Jada has taken August under her wing and sparked several rumors ranging from, the 25 year old R&B crooner was dating her mom, to August and Jada had a thing going on. The truth though, is that Jada has become like a big sis/mother figure in August’s life, during the years that his biological mother was not there for him.

That brings us to the present. After years of publicly revealing his truth about how his Mother and family have repeatedly done him dirty, August has recently reunited with his Moms. In an emotional on-stage celebration, his Mother walked on stage from the audience and August broke down to tears as he kneeled before her and tried his best to sang a song of praise to her. It was a beautiful sight to see and the crowd was surprised and in support of August for showing a very vulnerable side to the world. First August posted a photo of their tearful reunion on Instagram with the caption, “God is Working! God is Working! God is Working!!! Forever bowing before you, 🙏🏾 my life giver.❤️✨”…

After the show, a photo surfaced online of the woman who has been there for him throughout his recent struggles, Jada Pinkett-Smith standing beside August and his Mother.

Other Priceless Times Jada Was There For August

This was not the first time Jada has been there for August. In May (2017), Jada was present to help August finally reveal to his millions of fans, what the true cause of his health problems were. In a painful video released online, Jada sat with August as he told his fans the reason he’d had several surgeries, collapsed onstage, been in a coma recently, and temporary lost his eyesight, is because he’s battling a life threatening liver disease. It was a hard reveal, but he was grateful that Jada was there with him for support.

August Revealed Major Tensions With Mother & Family

His multiple health issues are partly the cause of the tension between August and his mother. In a 2015 ‘Breakfast Club’ interview, August touched on how he’d pretty much disowned most of his family for various reasons. He revealed that while he was having multiple surgeries, his mother didn’t call him once to see if he was okay. He also revealed that any of his other family members began to create vicious lies about him after he became famous, all because they wanted money and other monetary things that he could not yet give them…

August also stated that he and his Mother’s issues date back long before fame and that although she raised he and his brothers, she was not a warm, nurturing Mother to them. August says he always felt a high level of detachment from his Mother because she just treated him like he was some kid she knows, instead of a son. He discussed how she’s kicked him out in the rain and drove past him giving him the middle finger, as well as stating that she would go years without speaking to him, nor his brothers. As a result, August was once homeless, but after becoming a successful singer he said much of his fam’ had their hands out. So now that the new photo of Jada Pinkett-Smith, August Alsina, and his Mother hit the internet, many speculate that Jada had a little something to do with the two finally reuniting after not speaking to one another in about 5 or 6 years (this last time). We don’t know if Jada had anything to do with that for sure, but it’s beautiful that August still has her to lean on when he needs unconditional love the most. Some of us Old Schoolers may not be very familiar with the 25 year old cat who burst onto the R&B scene few years ago, so let us first catch you up to speed on who he is. He’s the 25 year old New Orleans, La. bred singer who released his first album in 2015 through Def Jam Records. His hit, “I Luv This Sh*t” is still heating up the airwaves…

He’s also the young brotha who was rumored to be dating Jada’s mother, earlier this year (2017), after photos surfaced of him on family vacations with the Smith family. The rumor really caught steam when August posted a photo online of just he and Jada’s mom, with a caption that read “date night.” It turns out, Jada refers to him as her close friend and he has been pictured quite often with Jada and her family for about two years now.

Now, in an emotional interview, Jada is helping August talk to his fans and reveal the real cause behind his frequent health issues that have had many of his fans concerned. He collapsed on stage a couple years ago, then he was in a coma and shortly after that, he revealed that he was going blind and had to have some type of surgery during his hospitalization.

Sadly, Jada and August have finally revealed that he has a very severe level of kidney disease, which runs in his family. August admitted, in the interview, that he didn’t want to tell his fans initially, because he didn’t want sympathy.
