When Steve Harvey agreed to meet with President-elect Donald J. Trump, he was called everything but a child of God. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Harvey talked about how the infamous meeting was set up and his single biggest regret: not listening to his wife. Marjorie Harvey told her husband to skip the sit-down with Trump and now he wishes he had.

“Now here’s the crazy thing: I’m supposed to be on a boat for my 60th birthday, so my wife says, ‘Steve, just take off [and skip the meeting]. You’ll meet with him some other time,'” Steve recalled. “God, I should’ve listened.”

Harvey’s friendship with President Obama was part of his motivation to at least try to work with the incoming administration. So when Trump’s team called, Harvey answered.

“…my business partner got a call from the Obama transition team, who said that the Trump transition team would like to set up a meeting,” Harvey said. “The Obama team said they thought it would be a good idea because the president is encouraging dialogue. And I have a relationship with Obama. We’re friends. So I say, ‘OK, cool.'”

The Black community and many of Harvey’s peers came for Harvey’s neck. They saw his willingness to sit down with Trump after all of the racist and hateful campaign rhetoric as a betrayal. Harvey says he wasn’t ready for what came next.

“The backlash. It was so vicious that it really threw me,” Harvey said. “I was being called names that I’ve never been called: Uncle Tom. A coon. A sellout. Because I went to see this man?”

Harvey went on to talk about what happened during the meeting with Trump. For the first 20 minutes, they talked about golf. But Harvey then leveled with Trump saying that although he supported Hilary Clinton in the election, he was still willing to help.

Harvey told Trump that he wanted to connect with Dr. Ben Carson, the head of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and find a way to turn failing schools into vision centers where STEM, computers, and coding are taught. Within minutes, Trump had Carson on the phone.

The good news is that Harvey and Carson are making progress. They have had meetings, set up teams, and are looking to announce a finalized plan for the first vision center by the year’s end. But as far as maintaining any kind of relationship with Trump, Harvey won’t be going down that road again anytime soon.

“No, I haven’t talked to him since,” Harvey said.

Lesson learned.

First of all, the entire video you’re about to see of Samuel Jackson discussing Ben Carson’s recent apology about slaves and immigrants is funny as hell. Not that the topic at hand regarding Carson’s stupidity isn’t a serious matter, it’s just that Jackson wasn’t feeling how the paparazzi was all up in his personal space with cameras inside of the airport. He still kept his cool though and managed to answer questions about Trump’s new HUD secretary, Ben Carson, with the twisted views.

Before we get into Jackson’s recent airport remarks, we’ll do a quick recap on where the original problem between Carson and Jackson came in. In case you missed it, Samuel Jackson previously called Dr. Ben Carson a ‘#dickheadedTom’ for his comment that landed him in hot water with people of all races and backgrounds earlier this week regarding slaves ad immigrants.

On Monday (3-6-17) Carson delivered his first speech as the secretary of the department of Housing and Urban Development, to hundreds of department employees. In his attempt to school them on just how great he’s trying to make America again, he decided to discuss the land of opportunities that America is all about. Ben Carson’s Speech:

“That’s what America is about, a land of dreams and opportunity,’’ Carson said. “There were other immigrants who came here in the bottom of slave ships, worked even longer, even harder for less. But they too had a dream that one day their sons, daughters, grandsons, granddaughters, great-grandsons, great-granddaughters, might pursue prosperity and happiness in this land.”

Whoopi Goldberg brought the noise to former republican Presidential candidate, turned Trump supporter, Dr. Ben Carson, during his recent visit to “The View.”

Dr. Carson- a smart man who was the first doctor to successfully separate conjoined twins;  a man whose beloved mother was very poor, could not read well, and was a cleaning lady for a Caucasian family- has somehow found a way to justify to himself why Donald Trump- a man who has made both racist and sexist comments- is the best Presidential candidate there is.

Needless to say, Whoopi and the other hosts on “The View” thought he’d lost his everlovin’ mind (like they used to say back in the day) and she had no problem voicing her frustration during their convo’ with Carson. You have aligned yourself with the man who has bashed women, made countless racist remarks – you’re Ben Carson, why would you align yourself with that?’ asked Whoopi Goldberg.

‘Well, you know, you have to look at the good and the bad. There is no perfect person,’ said Carson. But you look at when Donald Trump first went down to the Palm Beach area, a lot of the [golf] clubs down there would not accept Jews and Blacks. He insisted on Jews and blacks and helped to break that open. So, has he said some things that I wouldn’t say or that you wouldn’t say? Of course,’Carson said.

Whoopi couldn’t believe what she was hearing and looked extremely shocked by Carson’s response. Is Carson he really saying that we should vote for Trump because he decided to make money off of wealthy African Americans who could afford to join his country clubs?!! Wait…there’s more…

Guest host, Attorney Sunny Hostin, chimed in and said this about Trump to Carson:

‘He was also sued by the Justice Department in the 70s for not allowing black tenants into his properties and he settled with the Justice Department. Even though he did not admit any wrongdoing, it’s very clear to us in the law that means that there was something amiss. The notion that he is a fan of the African-American community is maybe off base.’

“I have met a lot of his employees and a lot are African American and they have nothing but good things to say.’

He also went on to say that he really likes Trump because Trump isn’t “beholden” to the current political machine in D.C. that he claims is ruining the country and that’s when Whoopi just lost it:

“You can say that until the cows come home, sir. I’m sorry, he’s a racist and he’s not good for the country. You’re Ben Carson! You’re so much better than this!”

Then the topic then shifted to Trump’s offensive tweet that took jabs at his republican opponent, Ted Cruz’s, wife and still, Carson appeared to be in denial about Trump.

“If he had spoken to your wife the way he had spoken to some of these women, would you take that, sir?” asked Whoopi.

Carson then said “Let me tell you something. When you’re very nice, when you’re very respectful, you talk about the real issues and not get into all of these issues, where does it get you? It gets you where it got me. Nowhere.”

Whoopi looked as if she wanted to jump out of her chair at such a crazy reply by Carson:

“Is that what this is about? It can’t be about that,” said Whoopi.

Carson replied “Here’s my point. He and some of the other politicians, they do what people want. They say what people want to hear. What I have to do is look at who is most likely to oppose the ruling class that is ruining our country.”

“That’s how Hitler got in, sir…that’s how Hitler got in,” Whoopi replied.

While Carson was getting grilled on “The View” and Trump was getting called out left and right, Trump took it upon himself to tweet while all of this was happening and had some not so nice things to say about “The View” hosts…he went for the jugular! Turn the page to see what Trump said:

NBA legend, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, is pissed that Republican Presidential nominee and Tea Party favorite, Dr. Ben Carson, said a disrespectful statement in his recent interview. As you know, Kareem follows the Islamic faith, just as millions of other people are in this country. When Carson was asked if he thought that a person of Islamic faith should be allowed to run the country he adamantly said he sternly disagrees with that and that they should never be granted that opportunity. See what else he said here:

Kareem Abdul Jabbar made an excellent point with his argument and he summed it up well when he said, “I don’t think that Ben Carson knows many Muslims at all because if he did he would’t be saying those things.”

To simply generalize ALL people based on their religious beliefs and say that they should never be given equal opportunity to run for president is NO different than saying that he himself, as a Black man and former welfare recipient (which he now dispises, we’ll get into that in a second) should NEVER have an opportunity to do the very thing he’s doing right now-trying to earn a spot in the White House.

Ben Carson’s also generalizes welfare recipients. He recently appeared on The View and said this about ALL people on welfare…
