It’s been an extremely rough week for old school music fans.

We have lost yet another old school entertainer today, the one and only Johnny Kemp has passed away at the young age of 55.

TMZ reported that Johnny Kemp was reportedly found floating on a beach in Montego Bay. It’s still unclear at this point what caused his death.

“Bahamian singer Johnny Kemp, best known for his 1988 hit “Just Got Paid,” has died, according to The Bahamas Weekly. He was 55. Kemp died Thursday. There are conflicting reports that he died after falling on rocks on the beach in Jamaica. Reportedly he was to join the [Tom Joyner] cruise in Jamaica. Beyond that, details are still sketchy as to what exactly happened.

Born August 2, 1959, Kemp started singing in Bahamian nightclubs at age 13. Bahamas at the age of 13. He moved to New York in 1979 with the band “Kinky Fox.” His self-titled debut album came out in 1986 and he scored a minor hit with “Just Another Lover.” Kemp is survived by his wife Deidre and his two sons.”
