That purchase meant that MJ acquired all of the rights to Little Richard’s publishing. As soon as Michael found that out, he immediately gave Little Richard ALL of his publishing rights back, because he believed that Little Richard deserved to be compensated for his hard work, after having been disrespected by his record label for so many years prior to.

The late Rock N’ Roll icon, Little Richard lived quite an interesting life- one that he publicly confessed was peppered with alcohol, cocaine, angel dust, same-sex attractions, orgies, church sermons, and Bible sessions. But through it all, there’s one thing that remained a constant in his life: his love for the stage.

In a 2010 interview with GQ Magazine, there were many details that Little Richard revealed about his colorful life; some tragic and some are just straight-up entertaining to say the least. Nevertheless, they were also enlightening.

Little Richard on his good friend murdering his Father after his Father kicked Richard out of the house when he was 19:

Richard Wayne Penniman was born in Macon on 5 December 1932, the third of 12 children. His father, Bud, sold moonshine. “My daddy,” Richard said, “put me out of the house. He said he wanted seven boys, and that I had spoiled it, because I was gay.” Bud was shot dead outside a local bar when Richard was 19. “My best friend Frank shot him,” says the singer. “He was out of jail in a week. We never quite found out what really happened.”

On how he tricked his girlfriend and wife into believing he was straight:

In his teenage years, Richard tended to indulge his own sexual appetites with gusto, then condemn his behavior as satanic. In recent years, he has developed a more liberal view of homosexuality. “I’ve been gay all my life and I know God is a God of love, not of hate,” he told Penthouse in 1995. “How can I [put] down the fisherman when I’ve been fishing all my life?” He adds that Lee Angel (a girlfriend), and Ernestine Campbell, a Bible student who was married to him between 1959 and 1961, didn’t see he was gay because “they just thought of me as a pumper [fan of masturbation]. I was pumping so much peter in those days; eight or nine times a day.”

Little Richard’s longtime girlfriend recalls the threesome Little Richard exposed reportedly with male singer:

Richard’s then girlfriend, Lee Angel…said that she was angry at Little Richard for a while for fabricating a threesome that he said they had with Caucasian singer, Buddy Holly, back in the day. Little Richard claimed that Buddy had sexual relations with Ms. Angel during their alleged encounter, while Ms. Angel was performing other sexual acts on him. Lee Angel was an exotic dancer back then and Little Richard said they were known to have some interesting sexual encounters during those years.

Little Richard on his complex sexuality:

“We are all both male and female. Sex to me is like a smorgasbord. Whatever I feel like, I go for. What kind of sexual am I? I am omnisexual!”

On how he always included the Bible into his orgies and other sex-scapades:

[Little Richard] was raised with the fearsome imagery of the Southern Baptist tradition. [He’s] struggled to reconcile the scriptural doctrine of his childhood with the temptations that come with fame. None has explored the opposing extremes of holy restraint and secular indulgence so comprehensively as Little Richard. His Bible, which was almost always by his side, doubled as his contacts book.
“When I had all these orgies going on,” he said, “I would get up and go and pick up my Bible. Sometimes I had my Bible right by me.”

In addition to his distinctive look, the outspoken, flamboyant singer has never been one to mince words. But, apparently, things are quite different now. Earlier this week, Little Richard decided to do an interview for the first time in years on the Three Angels Broadcasting Network. Footage from the hour-long interview has now gone viral and you’ll be surprised to learn why.

A VERY Different Little Richard?:

After Little Richard was announced and the camera turned his way, fans were shocked to see how he looks today. Gone are the long mullet wigs and the Pancake 31 makeup. The “Good Golly Miss Molly” singer bared all in the interview, wearing a conservative suit with his hair slicked back. The singer’s true darker complexion is quite different from the lighter shade of makeup he’s known for wearing. Showing only his true grey hair, he looks quite different from how fans remember. But that’s not the only thing that’s different…

I Am Delivert!

For years, Little Richard has raised eyebrows where his sexuality is concerned. From claims of bisexuality to “omnisexuality,” we’ve heard it all over the years, when it comes to the “Tutti Fruity” singer. But now he has a different perspective of it all. He’s no longer the flamboyant singer he once was because he claims he’s left homosexuality behind. Yes, you read that right. Little Richard claims he’s no longer gay. During the interview, the famed singer – now a pastor – shared how his life has changed over the years. He offered his take on what he now describes as “unnatural affections.”

“Give everything you’ve got to Jesus and you’ll feel oh, so much better. […] You know it’s just like everybody is turning one way or the other. This man here, when I first came into show business, they wanted you to look like everybody but yourself. And anybody come in show business, they’re gonna say you’re gay. Are you straight? Are you a homosexual something? They’re gonna say it. But the God, Jesus, made men, men…he made women, women..you know. And you’ve got to live the way God wants you to live.”

‘God Can Fix You’

Little Richard also had some advised any person of the LGBT community to leave it God to ‘help’ them change their sexuality, so they can become “holy like Jesus.” Told y’all this is waaaaay different from the Little Richard we all know. See what else he said below…

“Regardless of whatever you are He loves you. I don’t care what you are. He loves you and He can save you, and He will save you and He can help you. He will help you. The only holy, righteous person is Jesus and He wants us to be just like Him because in order to go to Heaven, we’ve got to look like Him,” Richard said. “I don’t want to sing Rock and Roll no more. … I want to be holy like Jesus.”

I Am Delivert!

You see, it’s also been many years -decades even- that Little Richard has been an openly gay man, and at one point, bisexual. Long before it was “acceptable” for someone of the LGBT community to openly embrace all of who they are, without fear of public backlash, Little Richard was well before his time. Throughout the 60’s 70’s and beyond, he made no excuses for his ability to love who he is as a bisexual/gay man and his fans appreciated that realness.

But today folks, it’s a new day in the life of the 84 year old. It seems that after decades of being a proud member of the LGBT community, the soul rock icon is giving us the “I’m Not Gay No More…I’m Delivert” line…

‘Live Like Jesus’

In his interview with 3ABN he dropped a few hints about his sexuality and why everyone should ‘live like Jesus in order to get into heaven.’ Check out what he said below:
