The ongoing tension between former Basketball Wives star, Gloria Govan, and her ex-husband, retired NBA star Matt Barnes, has just hit yet another plateau…at least as far as Gloria is concerned. For the past few years, they’ve had conflict for several reasons, including Gloria’s current romantic union to Matt’s former teammate, to a plethora of back-n-forth accusations throughout their legal battle over custody of their twin sons, to the financial support Matt provides to Govan.

It’s the latter that Gloria is currently taking Matt back to court over, and it comes months after she lost big time in their custody and financial tug-of-war.

Why Gloria Just Filed New Legal Claim Against Matt

It’s now been reported by The Blast, that Gloria filed new legal docs the other day, claiming Matt is behind in child support by $42,250 and she wants her paper expeditiously:

[Gloria Govan] claims her former NBA star ex owes her $20,000 that was due last November and $7,500 that he did not pay last December. She claims she is owed an additional $14,750 because Barnes’ support payments from January through May of 2019 have been about half of the $7,500 per month he’s supposed to be paying.

Seems like every other week, we’re hearing all kinds of reports about celebrity couples expecting babies. Now, there’s a new baby alert about a new couple. Apparently, Beverly Johnson’s daughter, Anansa Sims, has a new man and now the two are expecting their first child together. What’s more interesting is he happens to be a man many people are very familiar with.

According to Bossip, Anansa is expecting a child with former NBA star, Matt Barnes. As expected, many people were shocked to learn about Anansa and Matt. All the chatter started a couple days ago, when Anansa took to Instagram with a photo showing off her baby bump (see below image). The striking model definitely turned heads and fans were immediately asking the same question: ‘Who be’s the pappy?’ After much digging, it has been confirmed that the baby’s father is, indeed, Matt Barnes. So how has that been confirmed? Well, an insider has shed a little light on Anansa and Matt’s history revealing how their relationship has evolved. The two have reportedly met in college and have known each other for years. “They met in college at UCLA through mutual friends,” the insider said. “They reconnected after many years, falling in love.”

Needless to say, the news about Anansa’s pregnancy has been a bit shocking for most fans. Lots of social media users have shared their reaction to the pregnancy. Despite the couple knowing each other for many years, people still think they’re movin’ a bit too fast. One person wrote, “They’ve been dating for a couple of months and she’s already pregnant? These males love paying child support!”

To many fans, Anansa and Matt’s relationship seems to have come outta nowhere. For those who don’t remember, Anansa actually tied the knot with David Patterson back in 2010. She was a beautiful bride with a storybook wedding. In fact, the beautiful model and her now ex-husband were featured in Essence magazine and the whole sha-bang. At the time, she discussed their relationship revealing what brought them together. “I think we went out on our first five dates that week,” Anansa recalled. “After that, we were just inseparable. From that moment on, we just had an instant connection. We both had the same core values and we had so much in common.” Anansa and Davis dated for two years before taking things to the next level and tying the knot.

However, we all know some things just aren’t meant to last forever. Back in 2015, it was reported that Anansa filed for divorce and the couple quietly went their separate ways. Although the divorce is reportedly still pending, it doesn’t look like Anansa has any reservations about moving on. As expected, fans have also pointed this out. “Since she’s still legally married, in the eyes of the law, that’s her husband’s baby. Matt will have to have himself declared the father through the court system. Messy.” Another person offered a brutally honest opinion of the situation. “She’s still legally married and he’s a known abuser.”

But despite the criticism, it looks like Anansa and Matt are completely unbothered. She and Matt each have two children from previous relationships. Their new bundle of joy will be the third child for them both. Congratulations to Anansa and Matt!

NBA icon, Michael Jordan, may be worth a $1.65BILLION, but right about now, many fans believe his latest statement about Donald Trump’s LeBron James tweet ain’t even worth 165 pennies. Why? Because many feel that his response is the epitome of lackluster complacency about our society. See why below.

The Tweet That Started It All

As most of us have heard by now, on Friday evening Donald Trump did what he always does- let his Twitter fingers get tuh talking and offend whomever he sees fit in that moment. After checkin’ out LeBron James’ inspiring interview with CNN’s, Don Lemon, Trump tweeted this:

Donald Trump- “Lebron James was just interviewed by the dumbest man on television, Don Lemon. He made Lebron look smart, which isn’t easy to do. I like Mike!”

The “Mike” Trump’s referring to is apparently Michael Jordan, whom many fans have increasingly compared LeBron’s career to.

Now, we can talk all day long about how incredibly insensitive and ignorant it is of Trump to slam LeBron for opening a school for inner city kids in his hometown- Akron, OH- which guarantees paid college tuitions upon their graduation. However, that convo’ isn’t needed because simply making such a statement, as the 45th president of United States, speaks volumes all on its own. Moving on…

Therefore, I wanna instead focus on the reactions NBA icon, Michael Jordan, has been receiving from many, as well as the response he finally gave nearly 34 hours later.

After feelin’ that heat getting a lil’ too hot in this social media kitchen, Michael Jordan pulled a wealthy person move, by responding about the incredibly offensive Trump tweet via his publicist. Here’s his statement:

NBA Legend, Matt Barnes, & Others Call Out Michael Jordan

There was one retired NBA player, who then faced Jordan head on over this- Matt Barnes. Clearly, Matt had a lil’ time on his hands within the past 24 or so, because he posted a series of messages online, to put both Trump and Jordan on full blast.

First, Matt made a good point, that Jordan has made a fortune off his Nike Jordan brand, but typically says very little, if anything at all, to stand up against injustices and degradation against his own customers. Matt included a meme with a message that read:

He also captioned his post with this message:

Then, Barnes gathered up a few of Trump’s past tweets, in which he completely contradicted himself, regarding his opinion about LeBron James:

Fans followed suit and bashed the hell outta Jordan over his elusive response and as y’all can already imagine, they let Jordan HAVE it! Reactions ranged from folks questioning Jordan’s motives, to accusing him of trying to play it safe so he can still sell his shoes, despite the degradation of his people:

MJ is without a doubt, the G.O.A.T. But as a community leader, he shouldn’t even be mentioned in the same breath as LeBron. MJ kinda reminds me of those “neutral” countries during WW2, wanting to pacify both sides when there’s a clear choice to be made.

I think the debate over who’s better at the sport, is a valuable debate. However, a debate over whether or not Jordan is anything like LeBron- when it comes to publicly standing up against injustices (keyword being ‘publicly’), by risking his own livelihood in the process- there is no comparison. LeBron wins that hands down, but that’s not a diss, because I’m pretty sure Jordan even knows that.
