His Dad is the late actor, Moses Gunn. Remember him? He played Florida’s man, “Carl Dixon,” on Good Times after “James” died. Moses’ son is Justin Moses Gunn and Justin’s mother is also Moses’ wife, Gwendolyn Mumma Landes. Now let’s be real, there’s no way we would have ever called this father/son duo in a million years! Like we mentioned earlier though, when you take a harder look at them, you can see that Justin is definitely his Dad’s son.

Seeing the photo above of “Carl” and “JJ”, brings back some great memories of when Moses was on Good Times. His character was a good man for “Florida,” second to “James” of course.

One of Moses’ most memorable episodes was when his character, “Carl,” found out he had lung cancer, but was scared to tell “Florida,” so he instead abruptly called off their engagement and bounced without an explanation to her. After that, “JJ” ran into him at a bar drunk as a skunk, trying to drink away his heartache, only for him to finally be convinced by “JJ” and “Bookman” to go back to “Flo'” and be honest with her. After that, they ran off into the sunset and got married off camera, only for we, the viewers, to never see “Carl” on the show again (I wonder what was up with that?). That episode was classic.

Moses’ son, Justin, is an entertainer also. He’s a guitarist ,who is a part of a band with a very cool name called Reverend Shine Snakeoil Co. They’re based in Copenhagen, Denmark-Norway. Check them out here…
