Via TMZ: A rep for Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office tells TMZ … the rapper was booked and processed Sunday on a first-degree rape charge, as well as charges related to domestic abuse, battery by strangulation, false imprisonment and property damage.

After interviewing the alleged victim, law enforcement felt they had enough info to arrest Mystikal. Sheriff Bobby Webre said “Detectives interviewed the victim who sustained minor injuries during the attack.” However, the investigation is still pending.

As y’all know…this isn’t the first time the No Limit rap star has faced rape allegations. In 2017 he beat a rape charge in Louisiana due to lack of evidence. Years prior, Mystikal served six years in prison, after pleading guilty in 2003 to a separate rape charge — which some insiders claim was a false accusation against him, however, the court did not agree.

Not sure which side of the barb-wired fence Mystikal could end up on this time…but we’ll keep you all posted as more info becomes available.

A Long Time Coming

Mystikal’s recent stint in jail is another in a long line of legal troubles he’s encountered during his career.  However, his most current charge was brought about in 2016 when an unidentified woman accused Mystikal of raping her after a concert in Shreveport, Louisiana. However, in a surprising twist instead of Mystikal running from the allegations he turned himself in to begin the process of clearing his name.

Complex reports that in February Mystikal (government name Michael Tyler) was released from jail, but the rape charges are still pending and he will have to appear in court on May 20. But one of Mystikal’s lawyers, Joel Pearce, isn’t worried about the outcome.

Mystikal pleaded not guilty to the charges in December 2017 and is expected to go on trial this spring. Mystikal’s other lawyer, Joel Pearce, said he is confident the rapper will walk away with a win.

“Based on all of the evidence we have, we strongly believe that an amicable resolution is not only possible but probable as an outcome in this case and that Michael Tyler will never be made to return to jail for a crime he didn’t commit,” Pearce said.

With all of his legal troubles hopefully coming to a close Mystikal took some time away from the court drama to entertain fans during Orlando’s Funk Fest. And they were more than happy to have him back.

It’s been a long time coming for rap legend, Michael “Mystikal” Tyler. He’s been locked up ever since August 2017, on a rape and kidnapping charge. But on the evening of Tuesday, February 12, 2019, he’s finally getting to roam the earth as a free man…sorta.

Mystikal ain’t necessarily ‘free,’ so to speak, but he’s out on bond for the time being- and a very expensive bond at that. TMZ reported that after months of trying to gather the $3 MILLION he needed to bail outta the pen,’ the “Shake It Fast” rapper managed to do so, with some outside help.

Word on the Old School curb is that the former ‘No Limit soldier’ has just inked a record deal with a currently undisclosed record label and used his signing bonus (and probably future earnings) as bail money. His family also reportedly chipped in to make up for the difference that his new record deal didn’t cover. He’ll be out on bond until his May 2019 trial.

Details On Mystikal’s Rape Case

In August 2017, Shreveport, Louisiana police issued a warrant for Mystikal’s arrest after a woman claimed that either Mystikal or his associate, raped her in 2016, after one of his shows at a local casino. Mystikal turned himself in at that time, where he was booked on first-degree rape and second-degree kidnapping charges. He and his camp adamantly denied the woman’s claims and he pled not guilty.

What Mystikal’s Lawyers Had To Say After He Made Bail

Via TMZ: Mystikal’s attorney, Tim Yazbeck, tells TMZ … “It’s been a long time coming for Mike, but now he can get back to being the artist he is, doing what he loves, and seeing his kids again.”

Mystikal’s other legal eagle, Joel Pearce, tells TMZ … they’re confident in their case.
