Many of us may remember O.J. Simpson’s beautiful daughter, Arnelle Simpson. However, most of us may have forgotten about her, because shortly after her Pops’ infamous 1995 murder trial – where he was acquitted of the murdering ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman – Arnelle pretty much went underground. So did Simpson’s other children.

It’s been decades since details about Arnelle – who was oftentimes photographed with her pops – were known, but now she’s revealed what most never knew about her. Arnelle will be 50 in December 2018.

A few years prior to her dad’s October 2017 release from an Arizona prison, after serving nine years on robbery and kidnapping charges, Arnelle spoke out out. In a very candid and rare interview with Georgia Newsday, Arnelle detailed just how jacked up life has been for her, as a result of her controversial dad.

Trouble Holding A Job

Arnelle told the publication ‘how difficult it has been for all of the siblings to maintain any sort of stability or job, due to all of the controversy and forever prying eyes into their family.’

She also revealed that she did manage to find some stability at one point, when she worked ‘for a rapper called Hash for a while and then produced some fashion shows.’ However, that gig didn’t last for Arnelle either.

Raised & Kept Young Siblings Out Of Public Eye After Nicole’s Death

Soon after the murder of Nicole Brown-Simpson, O.J.’s eldest child, Arnelle says she took on the responsibility of helping raise her youngest siblings, Sydney and Justin. She tried to provide a “normal” life for them after their mother’s murder, but it was tough:

“We have been living with this for 20 years,” said Arnelle. “Me, my brothers, my sister… You know, when the whole thing happened to Paris (Michael Jackson’s daughter, who attempted to commit suicide after her father died) I called them. I told the family: ‘Hey, it could have happened to us, to Sydney and Justin.’ But we brought them up okay.”

Arnelle Reportedly Lost O.J.’s Home & Spent Most Of His Pension

As we all know, O.J. was sentenced to up 33 years in prison in 2008, for trying to steal his own sports memorabilia back from some dudes who bought it and had it inside a Las Vegas hotel room. Once he began serving his sentence, he left Arnelle in control of his finances. Only problem was that- depending on who you ask- his $25K-a-month-NFL pension and home were long gone due to various reasons under Arnelle’s watch.

Arnelle said, “The home is gone! All the money went to attorneys anyway. There was no point to keep it. It went for foreclosure. It’s gone.”

She further elaborated, “I have the power of attorney for my fathers affairs while he is, you know, in his ‘situation.'”

According to Yahoo, a family friend stated that while it is true that some of O.J.’s money went to legal fees, much of the depleted pension had to do with Arnelle’s allegedly excessive lifestyle:

“Arnelle is a shopaholic. Shopping was often the only thing that got her out of the house. She loved her trips to Saks and Victoria’s Secret and paid for them with her father’s money. She’d also bring all of her friends to the house or go to expensive restaurants and buy everyone dinner and drinks.”

O.J. Reportedly Tried To Get Daughter Off Alcohol

It was also reported that Arnelle and OJ sometimes had friction because of her alleged drinking problems:

Via Yahoo- In an angry phone call from his Nevada prison, [O.J.] accused [Arnelle] of blowing his money on alcohol, shopping and living a lavish lifestyle.

“O.J. fought with Arnelle all the time about her drinking, and he tried for years to get her married to get her out of his house. ‘All she would do is sit around and drink vodka, even for breakfast,” the source said.

At the time of her Georgia Newsday interview, Arnelle revealed that she was searching for a new job and in need of a new life and location altogether. The weight of her father’s controversy, for the past 20+ years, has taken it’s toll on Arnelle and her siblings. However, they’re are still standing and surviving…despite any money problems and controversy that they’ve unwillingly inherited.

Arnelle simply ended her interview with, “I love my father, I love my father,” even though she admits that he is not perfect.

O.J. Simpson and his ex-wfe, the late, Nicole Brown Simpson, have two children together- their daughter, Sydney, and their son, Justin. With all the talk that has been surrounding O.J. Simpson throughout the years, ever since his 1995 murder trial, his whole family has kind of been flying under the radar.

His daughter, Sydney Simpson, has been living a normal, low key lifestyle for the past 24 years since their mother was murdered in 1994. But in recent years, she was spotted in St. Petersburg, FL., walking alone in public and completely undetected by the folks passing her by on the street.

All of that obscurity is probably a welcome treat for the entire O.J. fam,’ given the cloud of controversy that always follows the troubled NFL’er. Sydney was just 8 years old when her mother was killed, but she is now a 32 year old woman. Sydney and her younger brother, Justin (who was just 5 years old when their Mom died), have both graduated from college. Sydney was an event planner at one point (we’re not sure if she still has that same career) and Justin is a chef.

Now, here is another interesting piece of info we found out- Sydney’s ex-boyfriend did an interview with Radar Online and revealed details about what Sydney has told him about her opinions on her Mother’s death. Here is the interview:

“Sydney is a real good girl and she has a good head on her shoulders,”Stuart Alexander Lee, who dated Sydney from roughly 2007 to 2012 tells Radar exclusively. “She’s not lazy. She works very hard.”

Lee says that during their relationship, she told him she had no intention of endangering her normal life by speaking out about her dad and the murders.

“She doesn’t understand that her story could help someone else,” Lee says. “When I was with her, I got friends in [the industry] I tried to set her up with and she said fame is a scary thing. It’s so real to tell your side of the story.”

“Everybody contacts her to speak out,” he claims. “She could be an inspiration to so many people, but she’s scared. She doesn’t understand. Hopefully one day she will.”

But in private, he says, “She talked about the murders, of course. Of course she talked about it. The way she feels, she doesn’t feel like he did it.”

“They [Sydney and her brother, Justin] speculate that it was a drug deal gone bad,” Lee says. “May she rest in peace, but [Nicole’s] throat was cut like a Colombian necktie. Sydney doesn’t believe O.J. did it, but she doesn’t know what to believe. The media changes, and how the police changed the whole situation… Either way, her mother died.”

“I had plenty of conversations with them [telling them] to confront the media,” he reveals. “They’re letting their dad sit in prison for nothing!”

“And he’s a good father from behind bars,” Lee insists. “They all still love him very much. They go out and visit him, and he calls them all the time and they talk together all the time. He’s a father. He’s a good guy. I don’t think he did it.”

Lee and Sydney broke up because of the increasing demands of his music career, but he says, “There’s no hard feelings on either side. I want to see her happy, and if this can motivate her to speak out, I hope it really does. My whole thing is, I was always tired of her and her brothers and sisters crying over spilled milk. You can’t let the world beat you up, especially when you didn’t ask to be here.”

“I know that if she decided to speak out she could be in a better position,” he says. “She’s a good-looking girl, the whole nine. She’s hella strong.”

Overall it’s beautiful to see that Sydney and her brother, Justin have been able lead productive and progressive lives, in spite of all of the pain they have endured and we wish them much continued success.
