Philando Castile’s mother, Valerie Castile, went completely off in a Facebook video she painfully captioned, “F— the police,” the day after her son’s killer was acquitted of all charges seemingly because he wore a uniform and badge.

As Ms. Castile, continues to grieve and deal with the lack of respect the system clearly has for her child, Tina Lawson expressed her grief, in unity with her, in a lengthy Instagram message the day after the non-guilty verdict was read on Saturday, June 17, 2017.

As the mother of two beautiful Black women and the grandmother of four beautiful Black grandbabies, Tina’s pain- like all African American mothers- cuts deep. She connects with the blatant disregard of another innocent Black life taken at the hands of a trigger happy police officer who seems to see Black skin as target practice and not simply as a race.

We agree with Tina on all levels. It was great seeing the wide array of races and cultures standing together in the wake of Philando’s killer’s acquittal. And any human being who watched the Facebook live video of Officer Jeronimo Yanez’s heartless and unwarranted slaughtering of Philando, but turned a blind eye to it, is either racist, soul-less, moral-less, or a combination of all three, just saying.

Rest in peace Philando Castile- a father, a son, a boyfriend to his child’s mother…and in his last hours, he was a fully complying, innocent victim of ‘riding while Black.’ It’s a damn travesty that in 217 we’re still asking Marvin Gaye’s 1971 question: “What’s Going On?”

In case you’ve been sleep for most of the day, the jury in Bill Cosby’s case failed to come up with a unanimous vote for a second time. That lead to a mistrial of Cosby’s case, in which a former Temple University employee, Andrea Constand, claimed that 13 years ago, he’d sexually molested her when she went to visit him at his home for dinner.

After the verdict was read, Bill Cosby shared a lengthy statement on Twitter, from his wife and let’s just say that Camille is putting the term “stand by your man” to full use. She went off on many involved in the case for attempting to target her husband for gain. She referred to the Pennsylvania district attorney as ‘heinous and exploitative’ and the judge presiding over the case as “arrogantly collaborating with the district attorney.”

Camille’s statement wasn’t all angry though, she did take the time to thank the jurors  “who tenaciously fought to review the evidence,” noting that that is the correct way to fairly deliberate a case.  She then thanked Bill Cosby’s legal team- attorneys Brian McMonagle and Angela Agrusa- for their passion and thorough research in representing her husband.  Check out Mrs. Cosby’s full statement below:

Two High Profile Cases Get Emotional Reactions In Less Than 24 Hours

Within less than 24 hours, we’ve all witnessed two high profile trial cases that have received emotionally charged, mixed reactions that are still being expressed by millions as we speak: Philando Castile’s killer, police officer Jeronimo Yanez, was found not guilty of ALL charges. While Cosby’s trial ended in a hung jury.

The only difference between the two is that the world got to witness one of these situations with their own eyes.  Philando Castile’s murder, was caught on camera as his girlfriend Live streamed it on Facebook, when the murderous officer slaughtered him in cold blood for no apparent reason. Philando appeared to be in full compliance with the officer’s commands when he was shot multiple times in the chest, as he and his girlfriend’s young daughter cried in the back seat of their vehicle. So the fact that there are actually ‘mixed’ reactions regarding the acquittal of Philando’s killer is unbelievable (but not really)…

As for Cosby’s case, the public’s mixed reactions are understandable because none of us were there to witness the sexual encounter, except Cosby and Andrea Constand. So it was a case of his word against hers, along with the evidence presented to the jurors. The prosecuting attorneys in Cosby’s case have now vowed to take the case to court again eventually.
