It’s been ten days since hurricane Maria severely devastated the island of Puerto Rico as a category 4 storm, killing 16 people. Ever since then, there has been a major outcry for help, as the 3.4 million people there scrape for much needed supplies and now they’re also running out of food. They are expected to be without electricity for months and many are on the street, with no place to go after losing their homes to the flood.

There are also very limited shelter facilities there and without the resources and lack of communication due to damaged phone towers and such, it has been difficult for them to reach out to family in other parts of the United States.

Trump has been getting hammered for pretty much ignoring the plight of the people in Puerto Rico, sending no help to the island. Many have accused him of possibly not even realizing that Puerto Rico is part of the United States, after he took jabs at the island’s finances after the storm.

Here’s How Fat Joe & Kevin Hart Are Helping

Now celebrities have been stepping up to do what Trump clearly is not and that is, dedicate their money and time to the people of Puerto Rico.

Two of those celebs are Kevin Hart and rapper, Fat Joe, who is Puerto Rican. The two teamed up to announce a donation center where people can send much needed supplies to be shipped to the island. Hart also announced that he is donating $50K to the island.

Fat Joe urged everyone to to donate anything they can to Puerto Rico:

“If you’re from out of town go to tidal.com/puertorico. Donate a dollar five dollars, ten dollars whatever you can. … We rally need your help, my people are out there we’re in desperate need.”

This is Hart’s second time in recent months, donating a large sum of money to hurricane relief efforts. He made headlines soon after hurricane Harvey devastated Texas, by donating $25K and creating the $25K challenge for his fellow celebs to follow.

Of course many people on social media are accusing Hart of trying to play ‘good samaritan’ to deflect the public from his sex tape extortion. That may or may not be true, but the great thing is that the brotha is still donating something.

Jennifer Lopez’s $1 MILLION Donation

Prior to Hart and Fat Joe doing their part for Puerto Rico, Jennifer Lopez has been very upset about the lack of assistance her fellow Puerto Ricans are getting from the government. She dedicated a whopping $1 MILLION to hurricane relief efforts in Puerto Rico, after seeing that so little help had arrived. We salute J.Lo for being so generous to the people of Puerto Rico. Good deeds never go unnoticed. By the way, other celebs, including Jay Z, Beyonce,’ Pitbull, Marc Anthony, and more are also donating to hurricane survivors of Puerto Rico.
