Since the 1990’s bubbly twins Tia and Tamera Mowry have been staples in the Entertainment industry. Their potent mixture of likeability and positive vibes have always been a refreshing addition to the culture. And now, years later they both enjoy successful careers with family remaining their main focus. Speaking of family, the twins have gone on to marry partners of their choosing. Tamera to journalist Adam Housley and Tia to actor Cory Hardrict. However, Tia’s decision to marry a black man has continued the conversation of racism in her daily life. And though she grew up with a white father her new reality is just as eye opening.

Walking In Her Truth

Since their rise to popularity on the classic 90’s sitcom Sister Sister Tia and Tamera Mowry have remained a vibrant presence for the culture. And fortunately after Sister Sister ended they’ve both moved onto greater success. Tia famously starred on the popular series The Game while Tamera secured a job as one of the co-hosts of daytime television staple The Real. Tia and Tamera have always been outspoken, especially when it comes to discussing topics that would make other people very uncomfortable. For example, in an exclusive interview released to her YouTube channel Tia opened up about how racism remains a constant presence in her life. First she spoke about how her parents, Darlene and Timothy, literally grew up on different sides of the tracks in their hometown Miami. However, that never stopped their friendship from blossoming into real love.

My mom was on one side of the town. And my dad was on the other side of the town. And he said there was a railroad track that would kinda separate the two towns. Now, my dad lived over in an area, it was a little segregated, where there was predominantly a lot of white people and my mom lived in an area where there was predominantly all black people. And my dad would always go over there, on the other side.

Timothy and Darlene’s relationship provided the foundation of love that their children used to encounter the world. And although Tia and Tamera went on to marry men from different races it’s never stopped them from speaking out on their experiences.

Rick Fox Leaves Company, He Found Out Shareholders Can’t Stop Calling Black People N***ers

Rick Fox is a man of many talents. Initially when people think of him they’re drawn to his thirteen-year career in the NBA. However he’s also found much success as an actor and entrepreneur. Unfortunately, Rick has stepped away from one of his businesses because of some very ugly, racist comments made by one of his company’s shareholders.

A New Business Venture

The Esports business, which is the professional term for competitive video gaming, has long been a source of entertainment since the early days of the video gaming industry. Four years ago in 2015 Rick purchased the now defunct Gravity Gaming and rebranded it as Echo Fox. When he first purchased the company Polygon reported;

To be known now as Echo Fox, the team was acquired and renamed at the beginning of this year. Gravity Gaming made two top six finishes in League of Legends‘ spring and summer seasons in North America, but failed to qualify for the world championship. The Daily Dot reported earlier this month that the team was sold for $1 million.

Since that time Rick has been enjoying much success, but unfortunately with success comes pitfalls. And in a lengthy statement Rick has decided to step down from his position with Echo Fox due to some nasty comments made by one of the company shareholders.

Crazy ‘Autistic’ Woman Harasses Black Lady In Airport — But Sis Is Now Getting Death Threats

ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI — It’s hard to believe this woman was actually autistic. Her actions don’t line up, especially when she’s able to “stop.”

According to Na’Kesha Danyel Smith — YouTube vlogger HIMAY10NENCE — by the time the video started, she’d already asked the seemingly crazed woman to leave her alone…from what she says was the 27^th time.

As you’ll see from the video, the supposedly “autistic” woman appeared very irate and vindictive… constantly telling HIMAY10NENCE and the young man in front of her to sit down.

Some of her reactions did resemble autistic characteristics ……. that is, until she showed the ability to cut it off at will.

Like, when airport security gets called on you…

After Blackface Controversy, Rapper T.I. Goes In On Man Still Wearing Gucci [Video]

You probably know that T.I. feels strongly about Gucci’s blackface situation. He called for boycott, but he’s finding people still openly wearing the brand.

Last month, Gucci took a bold step and gave a huge “f**k you” to the Black community by designing a Jim Crow caricature-styled sweater. This struck a terrible chord with Clifford “T.I.” Harris and many other celebrities, let alone several disrespected Black Americans.

T.I. immediately called for a ban against the brand — although only temporary, for reasons unclarified by the rapper.

NOTE: Gucci has, for years, been heavily promoted within the rap industry.

Well, not everyone has gotten the message apparently…

The rapper happened to walk up on a young man who was still flossed in Gucci apparel, as if the brand hadn’t done anything. And T.I. wasn’t about to let it slide. Instead, he thoroughly called him out, and the two got into a heated argument over the brand and its representation.

Police Officer Fired After ‘Flavor Flav’ Blackface Photo Surfaces

COLUMBIA, MISSOURI — A University of Missouri police officer has been fired after school leaders verified a photo of him in “Flavor Flav” blackface. Astounding how this keeps happening, right? (Total sarcastic tone.)

“White people are fascinating — they know blackface is racist, they’re completely aware of the risks, they know they can be fired & yet they STILL do it. Do you understand how committed to racism you gotta be?” Twitter user @_TheSpeakEasy tweets.

And he makes an incredibly valid point. It’s not some weird misunderstanding. People who choose to use blackface know exactly what it stands for, as well as the risks associated with it.

Maybe this guy thought his blackface past wouldn’t catch up with him.

Nevertheless, here’s what happened…

The Columbia Daily Tribune came across a photo of campus officer Marcus Collins. After verifying his identity, the student- and faculty-ran TV station on Mizzou’s campus also received the image — which showed the officer dressed as 80’s/90’s rapper Flavor Flav.

Reportedly, they got the pic from a man who spotted it on social media.

Former JFK Airport Security Supervisor Reveals What Male Security Guard Did To Female Guards Including Recording Live Sex Acts

A former security supervisor at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) alleges that women who wanted to advance their careers had to give in to sexual advances from male employees and supervisors. LaDonna Powell has filed a federal lawsuit against Allied Universal Security Services accusing them of sexual misconduct and racism in the workplace. The suit alleges sexual harassment, lewd comments, use of racial slurs, and pressuring female workers to engage in sexual activity.

Retaliation Was Common

Powell worked for Allied for four years from 2012-2016. She says that she was subjected to a sexually-charged environment where women who did not submit to participation would be retaliated against. Powell herself was given more difficult security assignments and denied federally-mandated rest and meal breaks. She had been reduced to urinating in a cup.

Sex Was Livestreamed

The 32-year-old Black woman said that the never-ending torment was “harrowing.” In court documents, Powell explained how she was “repeatedly forced to stand by as her supervisors watched her colleagues have sex in security booths via closed circuit television cameras.” They would also watch videos of female security guards performing oral sex on male supervisors.” Often the videos were live streamed.

A Culture Of Abuse

Powell wasn’t the only woman who experienced such vile treatment as an Allied employee. At least one other Black woman has come forward and has echoed Powell’s claims. Allied’s White supervisors at JFK were well-aware of the abuses and did nothing to help women who complained. They reportedly used the N-word in their everyday conversations adding more hostility to the work environment. When both women made formal reports of the abuses they claimed to suffer, they were fired.

Though the Port Authority of New York granted Allied Universal Security Services the contract, they are not named in the lawsuit. Attorneys representing the alleged victims, however, do believe that they should take some responsibility in the matter. The New York Daily News reported that the matter has been referred to their inspector general.

No Response From Allied

In the meantime, Allied has yet to issue an official response to the federal suit–and they don’t intend to, either.

“We have just received the lawsuit and are reviewing it,” Allied offered in a statement. “…per policy we do not comment publicly on pending litigation.”

White Restaurant Manager Arrested And Charged With Slavery, Here’s What He Did To Black Employee

“I want him to go to prison, and I want to be there when he go.”

This was the comment that 39-year-old Christopher Smith made when WMBF in Myrtle Beach interviewed him about his lawsuit against his former manager. Smith had filed a civil lawsuit back in 2015 against Bobby Paul Edwards, 52, and Bobby’s brother Ernest, who owns J&J Cafeteria. The former employee alleged that the two men enslaved him, discriminated against him, and violated multiple labor laws during the time he worked for them.

The Grand Jury Indictment

Edwards, 52, was arrested this week and pleaded not guilty in open court on Wednesday, shortly after prosecutors announced the indictment, records show.

Apparently there is evidence to support Smith’s allegations because Bobby was just indicted by a South Carolina federal grand jury for forced labor, among other charges. Smith, a mentally-challenged Black man, was only 12 years old when he first started working for J&J. But for a five year period of time between 2009 and 2014, he was forced to work seven days a week, 18 hours a day, and was denied meals and breaks. Bobby was said to be verbally and physically abusive. The full title of the charge is “attempt to establish peonage, slavery, involuntary servitude or human trafficking.”

Inhumane Treatment

Smith said that Bobby scalded him with tongs dipped in hot grease and beat him with the buckled end of a belt. He also withheld some $30,000 in wages, denied Smith any paid sick or vacation time, called him racial slurs, threatened him with serious injury, and forced him to live in a filthy, roach-infested apartment that Bobby owned which was located behind the restaurant. Bobby and Ernest never reported more than $1,000 in earnings per quarter for Smith in spite of working him so many hours that he would have to be carried home and fed.

Bobby reportedly used fear and intimidation to keep other employees in line and silent about Smith’s plight. It was the mother-in-law of one of J&J’s waitresses, Genean Caines, who alerted authorities in October 2014. Smith was rescued and placed in the custody of South Carolina’s adult Protective services. The investigation and lawsuit ensued.

Christopher Smith worked at J&J Cafeteria for over 20 years before the enslavement and abuses began.

If Bobby Edwards is found guilty of the charges against him, he could serve up to 20 years in prison and owe $250,000 in fines plus restitution to Smith. It still wouldn’t be enough to erase the emotional and psychological scars.
