Reynaldo Rey, the hilarious Old School comedian/actor, best known for his signature red ‘fro and classic line: “I’m sacred of you,” sadly passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2015. His manager confirmed that he passed away in Los Angeles due to complications from a stroke he suffered last year.

Most of us have gotten a kick out of Reynaldo Rey’s comedy for years. He started out under Redd Foxx’s wing, whom was also Reynaldo’s mentor. He opened up many stand-up shows for Foxx. Although Rey made his TV debut with an appearance on Sanford and Son back in the day and he made his film debut in 1982 in the movie, Young Doctors In Love, it wasn’t until 1989 film, Harlem Nights, that the world came to really know him as the Reynaldo Rey- one hilarious comedic actor. Rey went on to release 3 comedy albums, appeared in 50 more movies and 32 television shows, including White Men Can’t Jump, Comic View, A Rage In Harlem, co-hosting the The Tonight’s Show, House Party 3, Friday, Russell Simmons’ Def Comedy Jams and 227.

Rey is survived by his wife, 2 sons, and his Mother. He will be greatly missed and our hearts and prayers are with his family. May he sleep peacefully.
