By now, everyone knows about the drama Roseanne Barr stirred up on social media, with her racist bombshell tweet a couple months ago. The incriminating tweet was so bad, it ultimately dismantled the entire reboot of Roseanne, causing the entire production crew and all the actors to lose jobs at that time (even though they’re rebooting again, without Roseanne and her racist views). Ever since then, Roseanne has consistently made headlines for defending herself over her foul tweets that continue to haunt her and put her true colors on front street. While most people are still giving Roseanne the side eye, there’s one actress who is actually defending her – Mo’Nique.

According to KTLA, in the video interview below, Mo’Nique is reportedly standing with the woman she describes as her “sister in comedy,” despite her epic racist tweet that’s caused so much backlash. So, why would Mo’Nique stand with Roseanne? Well, the answer is simple: ‘no one is perfect,’ so says Mo.’ On Friday, July 27, Mo’Nique appeared for a Morning News interview with Sam Rubin, where she discussed the controversy with Roseanne:

“I remember when I had the ‘Mo’Nique Show,’ and there were big, major Black superstar talent that had White representatives and they told their talent, ‘That show is too Black and we really don’t want you to go on there,’” Mo’Nique said. “But there was a White woman, named Roseanne Barr, that showed up for me. … And they didn’t hear the conversation when the cameras wasn’t rolling. … That woman was giving me some beautiful words.”

Mo’Nique went on to ask a request of her fans.

“My sister made a mistake and she said something I know she wishes she could take back,” Mo’Nique said. “But what I would ask, is we don’t throw her away.”

Roseanne Speaks Out Again:

Mo’Nique’s interview follows Roseanne’s appearance on Fox with Sean Hannity on Thursday, July 26. Once again, she was asked about her racist “ape” tweet- about former Pres. Obama and his former senior advisor, Valerie Jarrett- and she was forced to address the awkward situation on air. She insisted she was “so sad that people thought” her tweets about Jarrett were “racist.” Laaaawd…

“I’ve apologized a lot, it’s been two months,” Barr said. “I feel like I have apologized and explained and asked for forgiveness and made recompense, that’s part of my religion.” According to Fox News, she went on to share her reaction to the ordeal, admitting that she “made a mistake.” She added, “It cost me my life’s work.”
